The University of Exeter is happy to announce PhD Scholarships for Black British Researchers for the academic session 2025/2026.

To be eligible for the PhD Scholarships for Black British Researchers, applicants must meet the following criteria: they must be UK nationals with ‘Home’ tuition fee status, identify as belonging to any Black ethnic group (such as Black African, Black Caribbean, or Mixed backgrounds with Black heritage), and must not already be enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Exeter.

How to Apply

  1. Find a Supervisor: Explore research areas and supervisors within the Faculty and confirm supervision availability for September 2025.
  2. Complete the Application Form: Include the following documents:
    • Research proposal (1,000–1,500 words) developed with your supervisor.
    • Personal statement (200–500 words) highlighting your motivation, experience, and career aspirations.
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV) limited to 2 pages.
    • Evidence of prior qualifications (degree certificates and transcripts).
  3. Organize References: Two referees must submit signed references from institutional email accounts to [email protected] by the application deadline.
