University of Liverpool MRes Research Projects Scholarships in UK

The Department of Music at the University of Liverpool is delighted to announce two funded MRes Research Projects Scholarships for students commencing in September 2025. These scholarships are linked to the AHRC-funded MusicFutures.

Applicants must hold an offer for the full-time MRes Music program starting in September 2025. Both UK and international students are eligible, though the scholarship covers only the UK tuition fee.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarships are awarded for the following MRes research projects in Music:

    1. Culture to Impact: Developing a Practical Framework for Social Value Measurement in the Cultural Sector – A Liverpool City Region Case Study

    2. Performance Health and Wellbeing in Music Education

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Hold an offer for the full-time MRes Music program starting in September 2025

    • Demonstrate strong interest in the research themes (culture, creativity, social value, performance health, music education)

    • Meet all academic entry requirements for the MRes program

    • For international applicants: meet the English language requirements by the application deadline

    • Be able to cover the fee difference if paying international tuition (UK fee covered; international fee for 2025–26 is £24,600)
