Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship

Applications are now open for the Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025/26, a year-long, fully funded program aimed at strengthening the leadership skills of African women working in public and global health. Designed to advance gender equity in health systems, the fellowship includes online learning, personalized mentorship, a one-week in-person training, and a financial stipend.

The Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship is open to African women who reside and work in Kenya or South Africa and have 5 to 15 years of experience in local, regional, or global health. Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree (MA or PhD) in public health, health sciences, health policy, or related fields, and be involved in public health policy, practice, research, or teaching.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Identify as a woman

    • Be early to mid-career (5–15 years of experience) in local, regional, or global health work

    • Hold a postgraduate degree (MA or PhD) in public health, health sciences, health policy, or related fields

    • Work in roles focused on public health policy, practice, teaching, or research

    • Show demonstrated leadership through education, employment, or community service

    • Reside and work in Kenya or South Africa

    • Be an African national

    • Have fluency in English

    • Be able to attend a one-week in-person training session

    • Have employer support to participate in the fellowship
