The Centre for Advanced Study (CAS) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Young CAS Grant, a prestigious fellowship designed to support young researchers in the development of ambitious, curiosity-driven projects.

The Young CAS Grant aims to support young researchers in advancing their academic careers by enabling project development and network building through residential fellowships. This initiative is a collaboration between the Centre for Advanced Study (CAS), the Young Academy of Norway (AYF), and the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters (DNVA). The program encourages curiosity-driven projects that push boundaries, challenge established ideas, and expand the research frontiers in diverse academic fields.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Open to researchers from all countries.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship is open to all disciplines; however, projects should be primarily theoretical as laboratory-based research cannot be conducted at CAS. Projects involving laboratory work, fieldwork, or data collection may be eligible if they contribute to theoretical research development.
  • Admissible Criteria:
    • Hold a PhD and be under 40 years old at the application deadline (extensions granted).
    • Maintain a full-time academic position at one of the CAS partner institutions for the fellowship period; temporary positions are eligible.
    • Affiliation may change between partner institutions during the grant period.
