2009 Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students at Caltech
Scholarships for Undergraduate International Students (Including Citizens of Canada and Mexico), at California Institute of Technology, USA- Deadline: January 15, 2009
International applicants who do not apply for financial aid by published deadlines, or who are denied aid for their first year at Caltech, are not eligible for need-based financial aid for any other academic period while they are undergraduates at the Institute (with the exception of citizens of Canada and Mexico). Those with financial aid offers will be eligible to apply for assistance in subsequent years. All eligible students must reapply for aid each year.
The Caltech Financial Aid Office receives a large volume of materials from students and their families. It is important that you clearly write the student name and birth date on the top of all materials that you submit. The Financial Aid Office recommends that you keep copies of all application materials and obtain a Certificate of Mailing from your post office.
The following materials are needed to apply for all need-based funds administered by the Caltech Financial Aid Office.

POSITION AS DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (SKO/post code 1017)
available at the Forum for contemporary history (FCH), Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History (IAKH), UiO.The position is available for a period of three years.
The research fellow position is funded by the Faculty of Humanities and is associated with the project The external dimensions of European integration. The EC/EU and its Nordic neighbours in international politics.
The project The external dimensions of European integration examines the European Community’s ascent as an international actor in international politics in the 1970s and 1980s and analyses the Nordic countries’ reaction to this development. Applicants are expected to submit a project description for a PhD dissertation on the following subject:
Norway, the EC and International Shipping
The dissertation project shall assess Norway’s reaction to the emergence of the EC as an actor in international shipping. The European Community did not establish a common policy on shipping until 1986. Through joint rules based on the articles on transport policy in the Rome treaties, and through coordination of national policies, however, the Community became an important player in the field. Following the “No” to EC-membership in 1972 shipping was one of the sectors where Norway strove for a special regime of consultation with the Community. The project shall analyse the motives behind Norway’s so-called active European policy in this sector and evaluate the country’s possibilities to influence Community policies. It will be crucial, moreover, to explore to what extent the EC had an interest in coordinating its policies with a non-member. Possible fields of specialization will be the role of international shipping in connection with discussions on a New International Economic Order. The study shall rely on documentation from Norwegian and European archives.
Requirements:
Applicants should have good knowledge of international history after 1945. A background in economic history would be an advantage. Proficiency in English and Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is required.
The successful applicant must participate in the department’s PhD programme (cf. regulations and supplementary provisions for the faculty’s PhD education). Research fellows will have their workplace and academic contact person at the department.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed.

Being abused from early childhood, but succeed all the dark times with the help of my Heaven Loard and my unlimited struggle to come out of those nasty days. Now am going to graduate from Haramaya university at the end of june 2009 on regular basis .ITherefore, I have strong interest to upgrade my education in the field of developmental economics or in rural development. Am a Zambian aged 44 years with diploma in poultry husbandry and animal feed, diploma in forestry and also certificates in general agriculture and horticulture respectively. Even at this age i still need to acquire my first degree especially in the field of agriculture. Please assist me access a scholarship to enable me pursue a degree programme. Currently i have been offered a place to study at the Australian National University starting February 2009 but getting the sholarship has been my problem.
Am at the moment working for the ministry of agriculture and cooperatives at Zambia Institute of Animal Health as a Principal Practical Instructor. Please help.

I’ve just finished my high school and need a medical or dental school. Of course finding a school can be easy but meeting its financial requirements is something else. To be up front, I didn’t get A-Level grades that are competitive for any scholarship out there, but that’s another story all together. All I asking is for someone to hear me out and give me a chance. I have just ended my high school in South Region Kandahar, Afghanistan and need to keep my education continue on computer science subject Of course finding a school can be easy but gathering its financial requirements is something else. To be up front, I didn’t get A-Level grades that are competitive for any scholarship out there, but that’s another story all together. All I asking is for someone to hear me out and give me an opportunity. You can chuck anything at me I will succeed. Also I can manage $3500 for school education cost so this gives who ever is ready to help me less of a load when funding which ever school they wish me to attend.

I studied Accounting at the Unity University, Addis Ababa and received my college Diploma on March 2004 Shortly after; I went to London, England to pursue a CIMA certification (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants). I was living and studying in the UK for 3 years – until January, 2009 when I moved back home. While in London I was being sponsored by my brother who also supports our family in Ethiopia. However, because of the current financial crises affecting the UK, he was no longer able to help support me in my studies. I held a temporary position at Prudential Insurance Company of America while in London; however, was unable to secure another job after my contract ended. These financial difficulties along with other family issues forced me to stop my education in London and return back to Ethiopia.
I am a very hard working, ambitious student. I would really love to take my education further. It is my greatest wish to study Finance and Accounting as these are very important fields of study for my country.
