Eligibility:
-The scholarships are open to any student with a firm commitment to work at a professional level in a technical discipline within the mining industry.
– It is intended that the scholarships be awarded to students in their second or subsequent years of study. However consideration will be given to first year students where they can demonstrate a particular requirement.
-Special consideration may be given to students in hardship situations, for whom the scholarships will provide major assistance.
-The scholarships will not be available to current holders of a similar scholarship or bursary.

Scholarship Description: One of the key goals of the WA Mining Club is to encourage young people into the mining industry. In 2003, the Club launched a major education initiative with its decision to offer a single university scholarship each year. In 2011, the WA Mining Club, in conjunction with industry co-sponsors, offered five University Scholarships for the benefit of University students intending to work in the mining industry. These are known as the West Australian Mining Club Scholarships and are one of several contributions made to the mining industry by the Club every year. The scholarships are awarded across the mining disciplines of Environmental Engineering, Metallurgy, Mining Engineering and Geology. We urge you to apply when applications re-open in 2012… it could be your first income from the mining industry before you even graduate.
