The Knox Fund is offering PhD studentship at Trinity College, Cambridge in the UK. Applicants from France are eligible for this PhD studentship. Eligibility: -A student may undertake one of the taught graduate courses offered by the University, usually of one-year duration and leading to the MPhil degree, MASt, LLM degree, a Diploma or a Certificate.
-A student may apply to undertake research in one of the Faculties of the University with a view to submitting for the PhD degree (three years), MSc or MLitt degrees (two years).
-A Studentship may be awarded to a student who is undertaking research leading to a doctoral degree at a French University, but whose work would clearly benefit from access for a year to library or laboratory resources in Cambridge.
-Under these circumstances, the student would still be expected to have gained admission to a Faculty as a Graduate Student, but would not be registered for any qualification.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Only citizens of France are eligible for PhD studentship.

Scholarship Description: Only citizens of France may enter the competition for a Knox Studentship at Trinity College. A Studentship may be offered for one, two or three (maximum) years, depending on the course of study which the applicant wishes to pursue at Cambridge. The Knox Fund is normally sufficient to support two students (occasionally three) resident in Trinity College and competitions are held in March. Knox Students are expected to undertake a regular course of study within the University of Cambridge and the award of a Studentship may be conditional on the applicant being accepted by the Board of Graduate Studies for a particular course.

What does it cover? A Knox Student who has no support from any other source may expect: to have all approved University and College fees paid on her/his behalf to receive an adequate maintenance allowance (The rate for students under category A (above) is set at the minimum maintenance rate required by the Board of Graduate Studies. The rate for students under category B and C (above) is £13,226 per annum for 2013/14.) a travel allowance for the journey to Cambridge at the beginning of the studentship period and the return journey at the end.
