In the present time of globalization, Language Scholarships are searched by various college students to bag their academic portfolio with specific languages’ degrees and knowledge. 2017 Boren Scholarship Basics for Undergraduates
Applications are invited for Boren Scholarships which provide American undergraduate students with the resources and encouragement they need to acquire skills and experiences. It provides unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests. Maximum scholarship awards are $8,000 for a summer program, $10,000 for a semester and $20,000 for a full academic year. The application deadline for 2016-17 is February 9, 2017.

SOAS Research Studentships for UK/EU and Overseas Students in UK, 2017
SOAS, University of London is inviting applications for SOAS research studentships available for UK/EU and overseas students within faculty of arts and humanities, faculty of language and cultures and faculty of law and social science.  Fourteen studentships are offered. The normal duration of a full-time student’s registration for a research degree is three years. The award is therefore renewable for up to a further two years. The application deadline is 31st January 2017.

2017 NN Danilow Honours or Master Scholarships in Modern European Languages, New Zealand
Victoria University is offering scholarships for the students to continue with their studies at Honours or Masters level in French, German, Spanish or Italian. Scholarships are available to New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents only. The selection will be made on the basis of academic merit. The deadline is 01 October 2017 and 01 October 2018.

Hakuho Foundation Japanese Research Fellowships in Japan, 2017
The Hakuho Foundation is awarding research fellowships for international researchers (non-Japanese) working in the fields of Japanese language, Japanese language education, Japanese literature or Japanese culture. Applicants must have sufficient Japanese language proficiency to be able to conduct research and interact in Japanese. Around 10–15 fellows will be invited each year. Long-term (12-month) and short-term (6-month) fellowships are available.  Fellowship covers Airfares: Return economy class air tickets, relocation allowance: 300,000 yen, residential research expenses: 300,000 yen per month, housing subsidy: up to 150,000 yen per month, international travelers’ illness and injury insurance, Application should be submitted till October 30.

SECL 50th Anniversary Graduate Teaching Assistantship Scholarships in UK, 2017- 2018
University of Kent is inviting applications for 50th Anniversary Graduate Teaching Assistant Scholarships available for new PhD students starting in the academic year 2016-2017. Scholarships are awarded in following fields: Classical and Archaeological Studies, Comparative Literature, English Language and Linguistics, French, German, Hispanic Studies, Italian, Philosophy and Religious Studies. UK, EU and overseas students can apply for this scholarship programme. The application deadline is 2 December 2015.

University of Notre Dame Summer Language Abroad (SLA) Grant Program, 2017
Applications are invited for SLA grant for the year 2015. Grant is available for undergraduate or graduate student to pursue foreign language study abroad program. Applicants may propose any foreign language study abroad program that is rigorous, reputable and has been chosen with the help of a Notre Dame SLA Program Faculty Advisor. Students of USA can apply for this SLA grant program. The application deadline is January 22, 2016.

SEASREP Language Training and Postgraduate Study Grants for Southeast Asians 2017
The SEASREP Foundation is inviting applications for Southeast Asia grants available for language training and postgraduate study. Language Training Grants are awarded for any foreign Southeast Asian national or local language (other than an applicant’s own). Applicants must not be older than 40 years old. The grant will support language training up to six months during the one-year grant period. The deadline for applications is 9th January.

College of Arts PhD Scholarship Competition at University of Glasgow, UK, 2017
The College of Arts offers a number of language scholarships for students undertaking a doctoral programme in the College of Arts Graduate School in session 2014/15. Applicants must hold an unconditional or conditional offer of a place on a College of Arts PhD degree programme. Various scholarships are funded by this college in different subject areas such as History, English language, French, German etc. The deadline for application is 7 January.

University of Auckland Study Abroad Scholarships, 2017
University of Auckland is offering study abroad scholarships in the field of languages & literature. Scholarships are open for 2nd/3rd year BA students or BA (Hons)/MA students to undertake a period of formal study (minimum of four weeks) in a country where the language is spoken as the first language. Up to $2,000 and, subject to the availability of funds, may be supplemented. The deadlines are 30-April-2016.

Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program in USA, 2017
Applications are invited for 2015 CLS program available for American undergraduate and graduate students. It is a fully-funded overseas language program that provides instruction in thirteen critical languages at all levels (Beginning, Advanced Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced). The CLS Program is equivalent to approximately one academic year of language study. Students of USA can apply for this CLS program. The CLS Program is fully funded from start to finish. The application deadline is 24 November.

DAAD University Summer Course Grants in Germany, 2017
DAAD is inviting applications for Summer Course Grants to attend 3- to 4-week summer language courses at German universities. Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing full-time study at Canadian or US colleges or universities. Scholarships are awarded in German language and literary, cultural, political and economic aspects of modern and contemporary Germany. Scholarships are available for courses lasting a minimum of three weeks. The scholarship is approximately €850, which covers tuition, room and board in whole or in part. The application deadline is December 1, 2015.

Melbourne Global Language Scholarships, 2017
Each year a limited number of Language scholarships are offered to high achieving undergraduate students for study overseas. These scholarships are designed to assist with the costs of undertaking intensive programs of reasonable length, or semester or year-long exchanges. Candidates must be currently enrolled in studies in their target language. The deadline for applications is 28 August.

Asian Peace builders Language Scholarship for Master’s Students, 2017
Applications are invited for Asian Peace builders Scholarship (APS), a dual campus Master of Arts programme available for the students from all over Asia. The scholarship begins when the student travels to Manila for the English Language Training and concludes after the final graduation. Scholarship covers all tuition fees, the language-training module, academic materials, air travel, living expenses and basic insurance during the period of studies. The application deadline is August.

Australian National University Ethel Tory Language Scholarships, 2017
Applications are invited for language scholarships to assist students undertaking full-time study outside Australia. Scholarships are open for both Australian and international students, however, international students may not use the scholarship for study in their country of birth or citizenship. Scholarships up to $2,500 will be awarded to cover documented travel costs. The application deadline is 26th September.
