Scholarships are awarded for a period of 3.5 years and are expected to begin in September of the first year of the award (but the start date is negotiable). Application need to be submitted by 31st December, 2014.

WAAW Foundation Engineering Scholarship for African Women
Applications are invited for WAAW Foundation 2015 scholarship. Scholarships are available for African women to study as full time students in an engineering course at a University, College or institute of higher learning in Africa. Scholarship recipients will receive an award of $500 for the 2015 academic year or the equivalent in their country’s local currency. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need and excellent academic record. Application deadline is 31st October, 2014

BP Innovation Masters Merit-Based Engineering Scholarships for African Students
Applicants are called up for masters’ merit-based scholarships available for Africans at Masdar Institute. Scholarship recipients focus on research and planning for a new sustainable technology business based either on their own ideas or ideas they adopt at the Institute. Applicants must have attained a minimum GRE Quantitative score of 155 (700 on the old scale). Deadline to complete an application for the spring 14-15 intake is October 31st, 2014

International Achievement Award for Africans at University of Birmingham
University of Birmingham is granting international achievement award to pursue undergraduate degree program in the field of Civil Engineering. This engineering scholarship for African students is valued at £2,500 and will be awarded as a tuition fee contribution. The award will be automatically renewed each year of study provided the recipient makes normal academic progression. Application should be submitted till October 1, 2014.

KJ Bathe SEMC Engineering Scholarships for African Students
KJ Bathe SEMC engineering scholarships for African scholars to study at University of Cape Town. Candidates who in 2015 will be registering for the first or second year of a PhD degree at the University of Cape Town are eligible to apply for these awards. The scholarships are each valued at R100,000 per annum and are tenable for one year. The scholarship will not extend beyond 3 years of full-time PhD registration. The application deadline is 30th September 2014.

Engineering Scholarships for African Students at University of Laval
Engineering scholarships for African students are available to study at University of Laval. Applicants must be graduated from a public university accredited by the ministry of higher education in their country of origin. This scholarship of $7,000 per year is renewable once, subject to compliance with the faculty’s criteria of excellence and upon the research director’s recommendation and faculty approval. The applicants can apply on or before September 15, 2014.

University of Agder Research Fellowship for Africans in Norway
The University of Agder invites a temporary 100% position as a PhD student in the digital learning in higher education. Research fellowship is for a period of three years. The applicant must have a Masters or equivalent degree in education. Application deadline is 1st September 2014.

UOW Excellence/Academic Merit Engineering Scholarships for African Students
University of Wollongong is awarding engineering scholarships for African students to study at Australian campuses. Two types of scholarships are available: undergraduate excellence scholarships and international academic merit scholarships. This scholarship provides a further 25% reduction of the published tuition fees for the duration of the course, up to a maximum of 4 years bringing the total scholarship value to 50% off the tuition fee when offered in combination with the UES. The deadline for application is 29 August 2014.

Engineering: Fully-Funded PhD Studentship for Africans
Swansea University has called applications for fully-funded PhD studentship in engineering for African students. The studentship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a stipend of £13,863 p.a. for three years but the award only covers tuition fees at the UK/EU level. The project is funded as part of the Sêr Cymru National Research Network in Advanced Engineering and Materials in collaboration with Cardiff University. The application closing date is 26th August 2014

NRF Scarce Skills Development Engineering Scholarships for African Students
Engineering scholarship for African students is intended to support master and doctoral programme. Scholarships must not be held simultaneously with a bursary/ scholarship from any other government or NRF source or NRF administered source. For the 2015 academic year, the value of the master’s scholarships- R70 000 and doctoral Scholarships-R 100 000. The closing date for submitting applications is 15 August 2014.

NRF Freestanding Engineering Fellowships for African Students
Applications are invited for postdoctoral engineering fellowships for African students to undertake research. Fellowships will be awarded to outstanding candidates from outside South Africa who wishes to undertake postdoctoral research in South Africa. A small number of fellowships are also made available to South African citizens who wish to undertake postdoctoral research on a full-time basis at recognized institutions abroad. Applicants must apply by 8th August 2014.

International PhD Engineering Scholarships
Applications are invited for PhD scholarships within the Department of Engineering and Design and Department of Informatics at University of Sussex. Engineering scholarships for African students include a three-year stipend (£13,726 per annum) plus full-time fees at UK/EU rates. Applicants should have at least a 2:1 Bachelors degree relevant to their area of study. The deadline for applications is 14th February 2014.

CSIR Bursary Program 
This bursary is for pursuing BSc/BEng undergraduate at CSIR Meraka Institute in South Africa. Bursary consists of normal costs associated with university studies, such as registration, tuition, books, accommodation, meals, laptop, etc. Living expenses allowance is an additional part of the package, to assist all selected students with incidental costs. The deadline for applications is 17 January 2014.

Faculty Undergraduate Engineering Scholarships for African Students
University of Sheffield is offering faculty undergraduate engineering scholarships for African students. Applicants must be self-funding and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes. The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction. The application deadlines are 15 January 2014 for UK/EU students and 30 June 2014 for international students.

Deans Postgraduate Engineering Scholarships for African Students
Aston University is funding engineering scholarships for African students to pursue postgraduate degree level. 12 scholarships will be offered. Each engineering scholarship amounts £5000. Applicants must be holding an offer to study for a postgraduate programme in the school of Engineering and Applied Science and hold a UK Bachelors First Class with Honours (or equivalent). Applications will close on 31st July 2014.

Faculty of Science and Engineering PhD Scholarships 
The engineering scholarships for African students are available for pursuing PhD degree level at University of Hull in UK. Applicants will be expected to hold a minimum of a UK upper second class Honours degree or equivalent, in an appropriate discipline. 13 scholarships are offered for three years. Application should be submitted till 3rd February 2014.

50th Anniversary Undergraduate Scholarships
Engineering scholarships for African students are available for pursuing undergraduate degree level at University of East Anglia. Total 53 scholarships are awarded to cover 50% of the first year’s tuition fee (ranging in value from £6,150 to £7,450 depending on course). Applicants must hold a conditional or unconditional offer for year 1 of an undergraduate degree course starting at UEA in September 2014. Last date of submitting applications is 28th April 2014.

Postgraduate Engineering Scholarships for African Students 
The University of Birmingham is funding 18 postgraduate scholarships. Engineering scholarships for African students worth £10,000 towards the cost of a one year Masters programme. Applicants must have been offered a place to study on an eligible one year masters programme. Application deadline is 28th February 2014.

Doctoral Engineering Scholarships for African students
University of Auckland offers 140 doctoral scholarships for African students enrolled or intending to enroll in doctoral study. Engineering Scholarship for African students covers up to $25,000 plus compulsory fee and are offered for up to 3 years, with a 6 months extension. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. The deadlines for applications vary according to the subject.

Undergraduate International Scholarships
Engineering scholarships for African students are available for pursuing undergraduate degree level at Loughborough University in UK. Over 100 scholarships are available for entry in 2014 to new self-financing full-time students eligible to pay international fees. Scholarships cover the value of 25% of the programme tuition fee for the first year of study only and that value will be credited to the student’s tuition fee account. The application deadline is 15th January 2014.

International Science and Engineering Excellence Awards
The awards are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree level at Queen Mary University of London in UK. Students will be awarded £2,000 OR £5,000 per year deducted directly from tuition fees payable to the College. Students must be able to finance the remainder of their tuition fees and living expenses. Application deadline is 15th January 2014.

Mid Sweden University Scholarships
Scholarships are available for pursuing Master program at Mid Sweden University in Sweden. Engineering scholarships for African students will result in a fee reduction of the tuition fee with 70 000 SEK or 125 000 SEK, depending on the programme one chooses to study. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence. The application must be made no later than January 15, 2014.

EMJD-SEED Fellowships 
Erasmus Mundus is funding joint Doctorate Fellowship in Engineering and Entrepreneurship Development for African students. The PhD candidates will spend 3 or 4 years in two different institutions located in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain or United Kingdom. Online application deadline is 6th January 2014.

ANU College of Engineering & Computer Science 
Awards are available for pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies at an institute which has an articulation agreement with the College. These merit-based awards are available for pursuing their undergraduate or postgraduate studies at an institute which has an articulation agreement with the College. The Award is valued at an amount of $5,000. The application deadline is 3rd January 2014.

Georg Forster Postdoctoral Research Fellowships
The Humboldt Foundation grants up to 80 Georg Forster Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers from developing and emerging countries (except China and India). Fellowship is awarded to conduct a self-selected, long-term research project (6-24 months) in cooperation with a self-selected academic host at a research institution in Germany. Applications may be submitted any time from 1.7.2013 until mid-2015.

Google Anita Borg Scholarship
Google Anita Borg Scholarship is available for Bachelors, Masters or PhD female students from Europe, Middle East to study in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics, or a closely related technical field. Application deadline is 1st February annually.

Angus SA WISE Scholarship
The Association of South African Women in Science and Engineering (SA WISE) funds SA WISE-Element Scholarship for female student for full time study at Honours (4th year) level in Chemistry, Physics, Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering at any South African University. Scholarship application deadline is 30 November annually.

Whitworth Scholarship Awards for Engineering Students
Whitworth Scholarship Awards are available for pursuing undergraduate degree in engineering discipline including MEng and MSc courses. Scholarship Application Deadline is 30 June each year.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship
Whitworth Senior Scholarship Award is available for PhD or EngD Students from British, Commonwealth or European Union. This research scholarship is provided in any engineering discipline. Scholarship Application Deadline is 30 June each year.

King’s Africa Masters Scholarships
The Graduate School at King’s College London is offering 1 scholarship to students of African nationality who wish to pursue a full-time postgraduate masters or MPhilStud degree programme in any discipline at King’s College London commencing in the 2012/13 academic year. Applications will be submitted on 1st March annually.

The David and Elaine Potter Fellowships
The David and Elaine Potter Foundation funded Scholarship for South African Students for full-time Master’s and Doctoral studies. The scholarship  is offered to study at the University of Cape Town. Scholarship Application Deadline: Annually
