Israeli Government Scholarships for Foreign Students, 2017
Scholarship Provider:

Eligible Students: To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant should hold a BA or BSc degree (or higher) and have a good record of academic achievement.
Course: Scholarships are awarded for summer language courses (Ulpan) and for one academic year or research studies.
Award Details: The scholarship are of two types: Full and Partial Scholarships: full scholarship includes: Tuition fee, Monthly allowance for one academic year (8 months only) and Basic health insurance; Partial scholarship includes: Part of the tuition fee, Monthly allowance for one academic year (8 months only) and Basic health insurance

Carlo Giannini Research Fellowship for International Applicants in Italy, 2017
Scholarship Provider: The University Centre for Econometrics (CldE) and the Association of Carlo Giannini in cooperation with the Bank of Italy and UniCredit & Universities Foundation.
Eligible Students: The competition is open to researchers of all nationalities who completed their PhD after 30/9/2011 or are about to complete their Ph.D. by the beginning of the fellowship.
Course: Fellowship is available to undertake advanced research in an Italian university.
Award Details: The fellowship will start on October 1, 2016 and entitles the winner to an yearly sum of Euro 50,000, gross of all taxes and social security contributions. The fellowship amount will be disbursed to the winner, as a monthly salary, by the CIdE.

Chancellor’s International Research Scholarship at University of Sussex in UK
Scholarship Provider: University of Sussex, UK
Eligible Students: Applicants must apply for a PhD in one of the Social Science Schools of study at the Univeristy of Sussex
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate research program at University of Sussex.
Award Details: The scholarship will cover international fees and provide a stipend which will match that provided for UK doctoral students by the UK Research Council.

Terra Foundation Research Travel Grants for International Scholars, USA 
Scholarship Provider: Terra Foundation
Eligible Students: The foundation only accepts proposals from doctoral students and postdoctoral and senior scholars outside the United States.
Course: Grants are available to doctoral students and postdoctoral and senior scholars for short-term research travel.
Award Details: Nine to thirteen grants are awarded annually as follows: Up to $6,000 per grant for doctoral students from Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand; Up to $7,000 per grant for doctoral students from Asia, Africa, and South America; and Up to $9,000 per grant for all postdoctoral and senior scholars.

Whitaker International Fellows and Scholars Program,2017

Eligible Students: To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree by the beginning date of the grant
Course: Scholarships are available for conducting academic or scientific research in a university or laboratory or pursuing coursework at an academic institution.
Award Details: The Whitaker International Fellows and Scholars Program offer a stipend commensurate with the recipient’s experience and expected expenses in the host country.

CASVA Paul Mellon and Ailsa Mellon Bruce Visiting Senior Fellowship in USA, 2017 
Scholarship Provider: The Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, National Gallery of Art, USA
Eligible Students: Visiting senior fellowships are intended for those who have held the PhD for five years or more at the time of application, or who possess an equivalent record of professional accomplishment. Visiting senior fellowships are awarded without regard to the age or nationality of applicants. Applications are reviewed by an external selection committee composed of scholars in the history of art and related disciplines. Outside readers may assist in the evaluation of proposals.
Course: Fellowships are available for full-time research and scholars are expected to reside in Washington and to participate in the activities of the Center throughout the fellowship period.
Award Details: Stipends for two-month fellowships range from $6,000 to $8,000, depending on relocation requirements, in addition to housing, as available.

Charles Bullard Forest Research Fellowship at Harvard University in USA, 2017 
Scholarship Provider: Harvard University, USA
Eligible Students: Bullard Fellowships are generally awarded to individuals in mid-career who have established themselves in academia, public service, or in the private sector.
Course: Fellowship is awarded to pursue research programme.
Award Details: The Fellowships carry stipends up to $40,000 or more if necessary; the amount of each award depends on the professional status and needs of the recipient and the duration of the Fellowship.

Visiting Research Fellowship at University of Cambridge in UK, 2017 
Scholarship Provider: The Smuts Management Committee
Eligible Students: Candidates should be members of staff of a University, or similar institution, outside of the UK. The person appointed will be expected to have obtained a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree or be working at post-doctoral level. The Managers will give preference to scholars with an established or emerging international reputation and an active research interest in an area or areas of scholarship falling within the remit of the Smuts Fund.
Course: This is a nine months visiting research fellowship programme.
Award Details: The Fellow will receive a contribution towards their expenses of between £38,511-£48,783per annum (pro rata) for a nine-month stay or less. This sum may be reduced to the extent that the Fellow receives income from another source.

Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program

Eligible Students: Applicants can be citizens of an eligible country.
Course: Fellowships provide training and collaborative research opportunities for generally scientists, researchers or policymakers who are in the early or middle stages of their careers.
Award Details: The program offers training and collaborative research opportunities to scientists, researchers, and policymakers from 32 eligible countries. Fellows will work one-on-one with a mentor at a U.S. university, research center, or government agency, usually for 8-12 weeks. The U.S. mentor will later visit the fellow’s home institution to continue collaboration.

IMPRS PhD Positions in Solar System Science at University of Göttingen, Germany
Scholarship Provider: Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPS) and the University of Göttingen
Eligible Students: Applicants to the Solar System School should have a keen interest in Solar system science and a record of academic excellence. They must have, or must be about to obtain, an M.Sc. degree or equivalent in physics or a related field, including a written Masters thesis (or a scientific publication), and must document a good command of the English language.
Course: Position is open for pursuing PhD programme at the University of Göttingen.
Award Details: Successful applicants are fully funded through an employment contract and are eligible for relocation support.

Rothamsted International Fellowship Scheme in UK
Scholarship Provider: Rothamsted Research Limited, UK
Eligible Students: To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must be of doctoral status, with at least two years post-doctoral experience. Candidates without Higher Degrees must have equivalent research experience to be considered eligible for the scheme. Applications will not be considered where the main objective of the visit is research leading to a higher degree for the Candidate.
Course: Fellowship is awarded to mid-career postdoctoral scientists for undertaking research.
Award Details: The fellowship provides funding for an accommodation and subsistence allowance; one return journey between the home country and Rothamsted; a contribution towards institute/ project research costs.

Canadian Government Doctoral Research Scholarships for International Students
Scholarship Provider: Government of Canada
Eligible Students: To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must meet all eligibility requirements for the competition closing date, which is the 1 st November 2015.
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing doctoral studies at Québec University.
Award Details: The maximum annual value of the doctoral research scholarship for international students is $20 000. During the eligibility period (nine sessions or 36 months), the scholarship holder may receive up to nine payments totaling $60 000. Each payment of up to $6 667 covers a period of four months or one session.

ISID Postdoctoral Fellowship for International Applicants in Canada
Scholarship Provider: Institute for the Study of International Development, McGill University, Canada
Eligible Students: Fellowships are open to all nationalities and disciplines in the social sciences and humanities. Scholars who received their PhD after August 31, 2013 or who will have completed all PhD degree requirements by July 1, 2016 are eligible to apply. Applicants who do not have the PhD in hand at the time of application must include a letter from their Department Chair specifying the date of the dissertation defense. Successful applicants who do not complete all requirements for their PhD by July 1, 2016, will have their offer of award withdrawn.
Course: Fellowships are available for undertaking postdoctoral research programme at the McGill University.
Award Details:  Each Fellowship includes a yearly stipend of $55,000 CAD and a yearly research allowance of $10,000 CAD.

Mathematics Research Fellowships for Developing Countries at ICTP in Italy

Eligible Students: Visiting Fellowships are open to mathematicians of any age and nationality. Visiting Fellows must have a PhD in mathematics prior to the start of their Fellowship.
Course: These visiting Fellowships are open to mathematicians for pursuing research programme at ICTP.
Award Details: A small number of visiting fellowships will be awarded. ICTP also welcomes applications from small groups, two or three scientists, who wish to spend some time working together on a joint project at ICTP.

Welcome Trust Research Training Fellowships in Medicine

Eligible Students: The fellowship is open to individuals with a relevant connection to the European Economic Area (EEA) for fellowships to be held in a UK or Republic of Ireland institution. Non-UK candidates should contact the office for advice before submitting an application.
Course: Fellowships are available to undertake substantial training through high-quality research in an appropriate unit or clinical research facility, towards a PhD or MD qualification.
Award Details: Fellowships provide: research expenses (e.g. consumables, travel, support to attend scientific meetings, fieldwork and data collection) and fellow’s salary, set according to age, experience and our policy on enhancement.

Hjort Research Scholarship for International Scholars in Norway, 2016 
Scholarship Provider: Hjort Centre for Marine Ecosystem Dynamics, Norway
Eligible Students: The application needs to be produced in co-operation with a member of the Hjort Centre, as listed under ‘People’ at Hjort Centre’s website. This Principal Contact Person is the formal applicant. The Institutional Contact Person/ Principal Contact Person should be a research scientist within the Hjort Centre. The planned research should fall within one or more of the themes in the Science Plan. Contact needs to be established with at least one member of the Centre before producing the plan for the visit.
Course: Scholarship is available for undertaking research at Host Institution in the city of Bergen, Norway. Hjort Scholars are expected to deliver at least two seminal lectures during the guest period – an introductory lecture at the start of the guest period and a summary lecture at the end.
Award Details: The grant amounts up to 50.000,-NOK and should be used within the period from 1 February 2016 to 31 December 2016. The Grant shall be paid to the Hjort Scholar to cover documented expenses related to a research visit to the Hjort Centre, Bergen, Norway.

Marie Skodowska Curie Early Stage Researchers/PhD Scholarships in Greece
Scholarship Provider: TEI of Epirus, Arta, Greece
Eligible Students: In accordance with the Marie Skodowska Curie Actions Programme guidelines, the candidate shall, at the time of recruitment, be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree. Further, the candidate must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Greece for more than 12 months in the three years immediately prior to recruitment.
Course: Scholarships are available to pursue research programme.
Award Details: Scholarship covers salary of the applicant.

Merieux Research Grants for International Applicants
Scholarship Provider: Merieux Institute
Eligible Students: The Merieux Research Grants are flexible (i.e. can be used for consumables, equipment, salaries and/or travel expenses), and open to any established scientist from academic and private research institutions. Applications from pharma/biotech entities are not eligible. Grants are primarily allocated to proposals submitted by a single principal investigator. Collaborative projects from two PIs are eligible (though not prioritized) : in such a case, grants from successful applications will be allocated to the hosting institution of the main PI.
Course: Grants are available for research program.
Award Details: The grants include: Advanced Research Grant: One-hundred Euros (€100,000) to two-hundred Euros (€200,000) over two years; Starting Research Grant: forty thousand Euros (€40,000) over two years.

JNCASR-CICS Fellowship Programme for Developing Countries in India, 2016 
Scholarship Provider: Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR ) Bangalore and the Centre for International Co-operation in Science(CICS) Chennai, India
Eligible Students: Applicant must be a scientist, teacher or a research scholar affiliated to a scientific or academic institution in a developing country in Asia (other than India), Africa, Latin America and Arab region. Applicant (other than Indian) possessing Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Science or equivalent degree in Engineering/ Medicine and allied disciplines, below 45 years of age affiliated to a scientific or academic institution in a developing country (Other than India).
Course: Fellowships are available to undertake research studies (short-term, participatory research) in India.
Award Details: The Fellowship Applications will be scrutinized during November/December every year by a selection committee. The Fellowship covers return airfare from place of work in their home country to place of work in India, boarding and lodging at the affiliated institution/s, and an adequate allowance in Indian currency to cover incidental expenses. The CICS will facilitate the issuance of visa to the awardees. The awardees are allowed to choose the fellowship period mutually convenient to them and the host institute.

Hakuho Foundation Japanese Research Fellowships in Japan
Scholarship Provider: Hakuho Foundation, Japan
Eligible Students: International researchers working in the fields of Japanese language, Japanese language education, Japanese literature or Japanese culture who reside outside Japan and meet all of the criteria below. University professors, associate professors and assistant professors who have outstanding research results that have future potential, and other persons with equivalent research backgrounds, are eligible to apply.
Course: Fellowships are available to conduct residential research at the one of the following receiving organizations: International Research Center for Japanese Studies, Kyoto University, National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics, Ochanomizu University, Ritsumeikan University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and Waseda University.
Award Details: Airfares: Return economy class air tickets; Relocation allowance: 300,000 yen; Residential research expenses: 300,000 yen per month; Housing subsidy: up to 150,000 yen per month; International travelers’ illness and injury insurance; In addition, Hakuho Foundation will pay the receiving organization a hosting cooperation fees for use of facilities, etc. by the Fellow.

Leeds International Research Scholarships in UK
Scholarship Provider: University of Leeds, UK
Eligible Students: These awards are only available to applicants who would be liable to pay academic fees at the full international fee rate
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD research study at University of Leeds.
Award Details: The award will cover full international fees and a maintenance grant of £10,000 per annum for the duration of the scholarship. There are no additional allowances for travel or research costs.
