Subir Chowdhury Fellowship at LSE Asia Research Centre in UK, 2014

The India Observatory/Asia Research Centre (ARC) is offering research fellowship to finish a piece of research of publishable quality during their stay and make a presentation at a seminar or lecture arranged by the ARC. The Fellow will be expected to engage in research examining the impact of people quality and behaviour on the economies of Asian nations prioritising, but not restricted to, India and Bangladesh. The fellowship will be awarded for a period of three months after January 2015, and will be based at the LSE Asia Research Centre. Application should be submitted till 12th May 2014.

Eligibility: Applicants should be scholars in the social sciences with experience of research on India and/or Bangladesh. Applicants should hold a PhD – the Fellowship is not intended for students registered for a degree or diploma.

The Fellowship is supported by the Subir and Malini Chowdhury Foundation. Applicants should be scholars in the social sciences with experience of research on India and/or Bangladesh. Duration of award(s): The Subir Chowdhury Fellowship on Quality and Economics will be for a period of three months after January 2015, and will be based at the LSE Asia Research Centre.

What does it cover? The Fellow will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of up to £1,750 a month, the exact amount depending on qualifications, and will also be provided with shared work space and access to research facilities at the School. Assistance will also be provided towards the cost of travel and research materials.

Notification: The successful candidate will be informed of the decision by the end of July 2014.

-a cover letter of no more than one page
-a curriculum vitae of no more than three pages
