Hong Leong Foundation is offering a scholarship for Malaysian students. The scholarship is awarded for any course or field of study as long as it is a full-time undergraduate study (1st-degree course) or diploma course at recognized public and private universities and colleges in Malaysia.

The undergraduate scholarship intends to benefit Malaysian students from low-income families, the Foundation believes that providing scholarships is about providing opportunities – giving a chance for students to have the higher education necessary to come into their own and be the next generation of leaders and captains of industries.

The Hong Leong Foundation is a corporate foundation driven by the interest and passion of the Hong Leong Group. It is funded by contributions from Hong Leong Group Malaysia’s (the “Group”) companies and is thus effectively its charitable arm; where most of the Group’s philanthropic activities are conducted.

Eligibility

In order to apply for the scholarship, applicants must follow the given criteria:

• The scholarship is open to Malaysian citizens aged between 17 – 25 years, who have sat for the SPM/STPM/UEC examination.
• Those who’ve just completed their Matriculation, Pre-U, Foundation and Diploma courses, as well as those awaiting to pursue or currently doing their Diploma or Degree program in any recognized local colleges and universities,  can also apply.
• The scholarship is awarded for any course or field of study.
• The scholarship is available for pursuing full-time undergraduate studies (1st-degree course) or diploma course at recognized public and private universities and colleges in Malaysia.
• Hong Leong Foundation scholarship is open to Malaysian citizens.

How to Apply

• How to Apply: Applicants should apply online. Complete all the compulsory sections, and ensure that the student provides complete and accurate details. The information is very important for our evaluation process. They will only need to supply supporting documentation if they are shortlisted for an interview. Please note that the information entered on the form cannot be saved.
• Supporting Documents: Applicants need to prepare the answers prior to starting the application. Applicants will be required to provide us with the following:
• Latest Examination Result
• Total Household Income
• Parent’s or Guardian’s NRIC Number
• An essay titled “What Do You See?”. Please answer this question in not more than 200 words. Feel free to use any form of writing. E.g. short essay, story, poem, etc. The writing MUST BE original and every writing submitted will be analyzed by plagiarism detection software.

• Undergraduate studies at local private universities — up to RM 24,000/= p.a.
