The Faculty of Medical and Veterinary Sciences is offering two fully-funded and/or half-funded postgraduate research scholarships for UK, EU and international applicants showing exceptional research potential. These PhD Scholarships are funded by the University for 4 years and provide fees and stipends at the same level established by Research Council (BBSRC, MRC) studentships. The application deadline is 26 January 2015.

Scholarship Description: Two fully-funded and/or half-funded PhD scholarships, to start in 2015/16, which are open to UK, EU and international applicants showing exceptional research potential. These PhD Scholarships are funded by the University for 4 years and provide fees and stipends at the same level established by Research Council (BBSRC, MRC) studentships.

What does it cover? The funding includes:
-fees;
-full stipend at Research Council level (£13,863 per year for 2014/15) for eligible UK/EU applicants;
-research costs to the Supervisor at the Research Council level appropriate to the discipline.

Selection Criteria: Not Known

Notification: Once your completed application has been considered, short listed candidates will be contacted by the appropriate school to arrange an interview / discussion with your proposed supervisor. Schools will then rank candidates for consideration at the faculty level and a decision will be made by 23 February 2015.

In this case you should contact the proposed supervisor to discuss this before applying. When you have decided on a project, you can apply via this link. Please ensure that you state in your application whether you are applying for the studentship which must start before April 2015, of the studentships which start in 2015/16.
