Eligibility:
Candidates should have an MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. We are searching for top candidates that have excellent research skills, very good programming skills (in C, C++, Java), which are highly motivated, and have good communication skills. For position PHD-SENSA-1, knowledge of and experience with performance modeling, simulation techniques, distributed algorithms and distributed control is desirable. For position PhD-SENSA-2, knowledge of and experience with the design of processor architectures, signal processing algorithms, and distributed control is desirable. You should be eager to push the state-of-the-art, and show your research results with working demonstrators and publications in top conferences and journals.

Scholarship Description: The Department of Electrical Engineering is responsible for research and education in Electrical Engineering. The discipline covers the application of electrical phenomena with respect to energy transfer, telecommunication, and information processing and the technologies involved. Both hardware, in the form of electronic circuits and accessories, and software, in the form of system software for electro-technical application, are the subject of study. Existing and new electrical components and systems are analyzed, designed and realized. In addition, the relevance for society is the subject of research, addressing topics such as user friendliness, sustainability, and environmental impact. The department wants to distinguish itself primarily in the fields of smart sustainable systems, the connected world, and care and cure. The vacancies are positioned in the Electronic Systems (ES) group of the department of Electrical Engineering. The mission of the chair Electronic Systems (ES) is to provide a scientific basis for design trajectories of electronic circuits and systems. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with the Embedded Systems Institute.
