The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) is offering fellowships for women who are Canadian residents and permanent resident in Canada. Fellowships are available for pursuing Master’s or Doctorate degrees in Canada and abroad for the 2014-2015 academic year. There is a total of $83,500 available through 10 different categories of awards. The deadline to submit applications is November 1, 2013.

Eligibility: Applicants must have at least a bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognized university and must hold Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status in Canada.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Canadian citizens are eligible to apply.

Scholarship Description: The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) is now accepting applications from women pursuing Master’s or Doctorate degrees for the 2014-2015 fellowships and awards competition. CFUW Clubs across the country also offer local scholarships, bursaries and awards, which are administered at varying times throughout the year. Last year, CFUW Clubs and the CFUW Fellowships Program administered more than $1 million in support of education for girls and women.  The following are the available fellowships and awards: CFUW DR. Margaret McWilliams Pre-doctoral Fellowship (Value: $11,000), CFUW Memorial Fellowship (Value: $8,000), CFUW DR. ALICE E. WILSON Awards (5 @ $5,000 each), CFUW 1989 Ecole Polytechnique Commemorative Awards (Total Value: $12,000), Canadian Home Economics Association (CHEA) Fellowship (Value: $6,000), Ruth Binnie Fellowship (Value: $6,000), CFUW Bourse Georette Lemoyne (Value: $5,000), CFUW Elizabethmassey Award (Value: $5,000)

Duration of award(s): Funding would be tenable for the 2014-2015 academic year.

What does it cover? There is a total of $83,500 available through 10 different categories of awards.

Notification: The CFUW Fellowships Chair will contact only those applicants selected as winners By April 15, 2014. List of winners will be posted on the website in May 2014.

How to Apply: As a requirement, the application must include a letter of confirmation signed by the relevant DTU supervisor, stating that the supervisor and the candidate have agreed upon the PhD project. Therefore, you must have established contact with a supervisor at DTU prior to submitting your application. Applications must be submitted in English. Applications must include the following documents:
-Acceptance in writing from a supervisor at DTU Compute
-The application form
-A personal application addressed to the Dean of Graduate Studies and International Affairs
-Short description of the proposed PhD project
-Documentation for MSc degree incl. list of courses
-Excel sheet with translation of grades to the Danish grading system, for Danish degrees.
-CV incl. list of publications
-Commitment from company (only necessary in category 2)

Scholarship Application Deadline: The deadline to submit applications is November 1, 2013.
