Applications are invited for IDEX Fellowships for international students. IDEX has two fellowship funds and offers a limited number of full and partial scholarships to selected participants. The IDEX Accelerator is a tuition-based, professional development program that is paid by the fellow. IDEX’s 6 month program offers intense field experience and leadership training curriculum that equips fellows with the equivalent of 2 years marketable work experience that’s relevant to social enterprise employers. The application deadline is January 15, 2014.

Eligibility: Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications to be eligible for the IDEX Accelerator:
Bachelor or Masters/Graduate Degree (BS/BA/BBA must obtained prior to start of program);
-Ability to perform in a high pressure environment;
-English fluency (written and spoken);
-Ability to legally work in India or Kenya for six months (IDEX will provide more information on the business visa application process).
-Minimum of 1-3 years of professional work experience;
Excellent listening and communication skills (written and verbal);

Scholarship Open for International Students: Applicants of any nationality can apply for the fellowships.

Duration of award(s): Fellowship is awarded for up to six months.

What does it cover? IDEX offers a limited number of full and partial scholarships and fundraising resources to assist participants requiring financial support.
-Tuition covers all education expenses of the program, including: Inspiration Conference, capacity building modules, program curriculum, 3-day field training workshops and associated lodging/ travel from training site to placement city, academic and professional mentoring support, and access to Common ThreadX.
Housing: Housing is covered in full by the social enterprise partner. Fellows are not responsible for paying or securing housing.
-Housing accommodations are arranged by IDEX program staff and enterprise partners.
-Fellows are housed in single or double/triple occupancy accommodations with other fellows.
-During the six month program, housing is located in the city within reasonable distance to the placement enterprise.
Travel/Living Expenses
Fellows will receive a $300-$600 transportation stipend to use for transportation in country (amount will be based on placement city)
-Tuition does not cover airfare or travel to/from placement city, visa costs or daily living expenses during program such as food or utilities.
-During the 2-3 day fellow training and orientation, all meals and housing accommodations are included.
-For the remainder of the program, daily living expenses, such as food, utilities and other miscellaneous expenses are covered by the fellow.

Selection Criteria: Not Known

Notification: Short-listed candidates will participate in a phone/skype interview between December 15th and February 7th. Selected candidates will be extended invitations to join the IDEX Accelerator between January 30thand Feb 15th. Candidates will also receive scholarship notices during this time phase.

How to Apply: The mode of applying is online. To apply for a scholarship you must complete the following requirements:
-Complete fellowship application and required documents
-Essay Question: Why are you passionate about Social Enterprise? Why does the Social Enterprise Sector need you? What is the industry lacking? What future career do you see for yourself within this sector?
-Essay not to exceed 2 pages
-Essay must be written in English
-Essay to be uploaded in Microsoft Word or PDF format
