Description: The Mitch Faber Memorial Blues Guitar Scholarship was created to honor the memory, talent and artistic career of GIT alumnus (class of 1981) Mitch Faber; and is provided to encourage and support the educational growth of a newly enrolling Guitar Program (GIT) student. The sponsorship will be awarded in Fall 2012 to a new student (US or non-US citizens) enrolling in the Associate of Arts in Performance (Guitar) program who demonstrates overall outstanding musicianship, and the potential for developing their own individual sound or unique voice on the instrument in the Blues style. The grant is applicable for students enrolled in the AA Guitar performance program only, and may not be transferred to “non- performance program” emphases (Audio Engineering, Music Business, Independent Artist, Guitar Craft, or Film) within an AA degree.
