The University of Vienna offers scholarships for young scientists of Austria and Switzerland. The scholarships are available for work in Medicine (particularly cancer and cardiovascular disease research), Chemistry, Biology, Philosophy, Sociology or Law . Scholarships of 25.000€ are offered for one year to postgraduates who have already completed an academic course at a university. Applications are open till 1st April 2013.

Eligibility: According to the founder’s intentions, the scholarship will only be awarded to young scientists who are willing to spend a year working exclusively on their research, using their own or other means. This is a fundamental prerequisite of eligibility for this scholarship.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The young scientists of Austria and Switzerland can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The Emil Boral Scholarship is available to young scientists in Austria and Switzerland (postgraduates) who have already completed an academic course at a university.The scholarship will be granted for work in one of the following fields:
Medicine (particularly cancer and cardiovascular disease research), Chemistry, Biology, Philosophy, Sociology and Law. Entries from the three last-named fields should propose research into behaviour patterns in connection with the promotion of peace within societies and among nations. According to the founder’s intentions, the scholarship will only be awarded to young scientists who are willing to spend a year working exclusively on their research, using their own or other means. This is a fundamental prerequisite of eligibility for this scholarship.

Duration of award(s): The scholarship is offered for 12 months.

What does it cover? The scholarship value is 25.000€.

How to Apply: The application documents must be submitted to the Office for Research Services both electronically and as hard copies.

Scholarship Application Deadline: Applications are submitted till 1st April 2013.
