-Be enrolling in the first year of their first undergraduate degree
-Be enrolled in any program studying any of the Engineering, Commerce, Accounting, Information Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computing, Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resource and Industrial Relations Disciplines
-Be enrolled full-time
-Not hold another scholarship for the same program
-Be an Australian Citizen or Be a Permanent Resident
-Reside and/or have completed your HSC or equivalent within the Newcastle and Hunter Region
Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of Australia can apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Description: This scholarship was established by Port Waratah Coal Services Limited to support commencing undergraduate students at the University of Newcastle.
Number of award(s): Two scholarships are offered.
Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for throughout the duration of the program, the student will be provided the opportunity to work at Port Waratah Coal Services Ltd, during the period December to February, at the rate of $500 per week.

-Assessment of the required written statement
-Performance at an interview
-Academic merit, namely HSC performance or other entrance requirements.
