Fulbright Grants for Belgian, Luxembourgian and EU Citizens in USA, 2014-2015

Applications are invited for Fulbright grants available for the Belgium, Luxembourgian and EU citizens. Grants are available for graduate study as well as pre-doctoral and postdoctoral research or university lecturing at an accredited U.S. institution for a period between three months and one year. Commission will nominate between 15 and 20 Belgian students, between 12-14 Belgian and Luxembourgish scholars, between 10 and 12 Schuman Scholars, and between 5 and 7 Schuman students. Grants will range from $2,000 to $30,000 and will be based on merit and financial aid. Application deadline is 1 December, 2014.

 Eligibility:
-For Belgium and Luxembourgian citizens: Applicants who will travel to the United States without a Ph.D. are placed in the “Student” category and are required to remain in the U.S. for a minimum of six months; Applicants who will have a Ph.D. by their time of departure are placed in the “Research” category and may remain for a minimum of three months.
-For EU citizens: Proficiency in English and a minimum of three months experience in two or more Member States is required. Preference will be given to candidates with two years of relevant professional or academic experience beyond the Bachelor’s degree. EU professionals and professionals in training (decision-makers, policy-makers, individuals in industry, the media, politics, academia, and public administration) are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship Description: Fulbright ScholarshipThe Commission for Educational Exchange between Belgium, Luxembourg, and the U.S. is pleased to announce that the 2014 Fulbright award competition for Belgium, Luxembourg, and Schuman will open on September 15th and close on December 1st. Please note that this year’s competition deadline is several months in advance from last year’s. Commission will nominate between 15 and 20 Belgian students, between 12-14 Belgian and Luxembourgish scholars, between 10 and 12 Schuman Scholars, and between 5 and 7 Schuman students.
