The University of Edinburgh is offering the Witherspoon Master’s Scholarships for students from the USA. Applicants must have accepted for admission on a full-time basis studying towards a one-year postgraduate Master’s programme of study at the University of Edinburgh. Each scholarship will have a value of £20,000 and will be tenable for one academic year.
The John Witherspoon Scholarship was established with help from the University of Edinburgh’s USA Development Trust to mark the opening of the University of Edinburgh’s North America Office in October 2014.

Eligibility
- The scholarships will be awarded to US citizens who are normally resident in the USA, and who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis studying towards a one-year postgraduate Master’s programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.
- One scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Princeton University if suitable candidates are available.
Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer. Preference will be given to candidates who have not already had the opportunity to study in Scotland.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of USA are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.
A number of awards (s): The University of Edinburgh will offer two Master’s scholarships.
