50th Anniversary PhD Scholarships at Kent University in UK, 2016

Kent University invites application for 50th Anniversary PhD Scholarship. Scholarships are open to both UK and international students for entry in September/October 2016. The scholarship covers tuition fees at the postgraduate standard home/EU rate in addition to an annual maintenance stipend of £14,057 per annum (for entry in September/October 2016 only). The deadline for applications is 31 January 2016.

Eligibility:
-Successful candidates will have obtained a 1st or good 2.1 undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, and ordinarily an MA or MSc at Merit or Distinction level.
-Applications will only be considered if applicants have secured agreement from a member of staff in their area of interest to supervise them. Only one academic may be approached at a time (multiple simultaneous approaches will result in the application being rejected).
-An IELT score of 7.0 for non-UK students with a minimum of 6.5 in all components, as all PhD scholarship students are expected to have excellent communication skills.

Scholarship Open for International Students: UK and international students can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: Kent University, School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research provide additional scholarships and bursaries for certain students and degree options.

What does it cover? The scholarship covers tuition fees at the postgraduate standard home/EU rate (£4,052 per annum) in addition to an annual maintenance stipend of £14,057 per annum (for entry in September/October 2016 only).

Notification: Interviews will be held at the Canterbury campus on 11 February 2016; those who are shortlisted for interview will be notified on 8 February 2016 at 17.00.
