The Uva Wellassa University is accepting applications for its Academic Scholarships. The university offers two types of scholarships such as Chancellor’s Scholarship and Mahapola and Bursary.

These scholarships are offered to students who are truly in need of financial support. These are available only for Sri Lanka students.

The Department offers three-degree programs namely Bachelor of Science in Export Agriculture, Bachelor of Science in Tea Technology and Value Addition and Bachelor of Science in Palm and Latex Technology and Value Addition.

The Department aims to provide specialized knowledge and skills on agricultural production, agricultural management, and food industry and value addition to national resources.

Eligibility

Eligible Countries: Sri Lanka students are eligible to apply.
Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded to study in undergraduate degree programs offered by the university.
Admissible Criteria: Applicants must be:

• For Chancellor’s Scholarship: It led to initiate a scholarship program for UWU undergraduates. These scholarships are offered to students who are truly in need of financial support.
• For Mahapola and Bursary: Students should apply for both financial supporting schemes giving necessary information such as student’s family income, marks obtained at G.C.E. (Advanced Level), their academic achievements etc. to be taken into consideration by the Government authorities to choose the scholarship and bursary holders.

How to Apply

• How to apply: To participate, the applicants need to take admission to the university. After taking admission applicants must automatically consider for this scholarship program.
• Supporting Documents: The student must retain a copy of the appeal for reference. The appeal must have the student’s full name, registration number, permanent address, academic year, degree program and the course unit.
• Language Requirement: Applicant’s English Level is one of the most important requirements for joining the University.
• Benefit: The selected undergraduates receive Rs.1500/= per month for 10 months of academic year up to four years, until completion of the degree program.
