The association was established in 1993 by the state of Brandenburg with the participation of partners from global institutions such as the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and is directed by US philosopher Susan Neiman.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: German and international students are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded to research in humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences any subject offered by the university
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applicants should be under the age of 35 and have a qualified university degree in humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences.
  • The applications are evaluated according to the quality, originality, and feasibility of the project proposals as well as the scientific career of the applicant. It doesn’t matter whether a doctorate has already been started or completed. The proposed project does not have to be completed within the given time frame but can serve as a starting point for a new, longer project.
