ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarships Program, 2023

To increase academic exchanges and strengthen the educational cooperation of China with the ASEAN member states, the Chinese Government is launching the ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarships Program(ACYLS). The program is organized for the academic year 2023-2024.

International students from ASEAN Member States (AMS) wanting to pursue their further studies in China can participate in this scholarship program. The applicants must be enrolled in a Chinese university for a study programme at the master, doctoral, or research level to be considered. Students applying must not be more than 45 years old. A scholarship award of 4,000 RMB or 5,000 RMB can be expected by the winners.

The People’s Republic of China’s ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship Program (ACYLS) is a dedicated project for young and promising professionals with working experience who are AMS nationals. The funding for the ACYLS Program comes from the Chinese Government through the?ASEAN-China?Cooperation Fund (ACCF).

  • Eligible Countries: Students from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam are eligible to apply.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Admission applications must be submitted via the host Chinese university’s application portal. Scholarship applications must be submitted via an online application form through CampusChina portal.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Notarized highest diploma
  • Academic transcripts
  • A Study Plan or Research Proposal
  • Two Recommendation Letters
  • Valid documents of your legal guardians in China
  • Certificates of English language proficiency
  • Foreigner Physical Examination Form
  • A resume or CV
  • Non-criminal record report
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Chinese universities to which the applicant has applied.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS – 6.0
  • TOEFL IBT – 80
