Need to get FSU scholarships but don’t know where to start Florida State University is offering a number of scholarship to internal and external students. The Florida State University (commonly referred to as Florida State or FSU) is an American public space-grant and sea-grant research university located in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. A scholarship is a very good way to finance your studies which enables you to fully concentrate on getting your degree instead of worrying about money issues. Getting into college is tough enough. Then you’ve to figure out how to pay for it. College scholarship is a great option for college without taking any debt.

College of Business Scholarships

The College of Business awards two types of scholarships i.e. college-wide scholarships and department scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students.

College-Wide Scholarships

Each year the College of Business Scholarship Committee awards a number of scholarships to upper-division business majors. Awards are made on an academic year basis covering both the fall and spring semesters. Scholarship awards range from $1000 to $1,500 per academic year and are distributed in two equal installments, one at the beginning of the fall semester and one at the beginning of the spring semester. The College of Business application period begins in the spring semester with a deadline date in April. The following are the available scholarships for undergraduate or graduate students:

1). College-Wide Scholarships For Undergraduate StudentsThe following are the college wide undergraduate scholarships:
-Bank of America Scholarships
of $1500 are available to US students who have at least a 3.0 FSU GPA.
-College of Business Achievement Scholarship of $1500 supports students who have completed at least 24 semester hours of upper-level business courses prior to the beginning of the awards period.
-E. Ray Solomon Scholarships of $1500 for students who have demonstrated academic and professional promise.
-Martin Mayhew Scholarships of $1250 for African American, a U.S. citizen and a Florida resident who have a financial need.
-Darden Restaurants Scholarships of $1000 give preference to non-traditional students and students who come from an economically disadvantaged background.
-Joseph A. Gangloff Scholarship of $1000 for US students who have cumulative FSU GPA of 2.5 overall or 3.0 in major.
-Owens Scholarship of $1000 to US students who demonstrate academic excellence and involvement in extracurricular activities.

2). College-Wide Scholarships For Graduate Students: The following scholarships are available for graduate students:
-Colonel James R. Douglass Graduate Fellowship ($5,000): Fellowship is awarded to US citizens. The eligible applicant must be pursuing a full-time MBA, must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 and must be current or former military personnel.
-Dennis & Kathy Newman Endowed Scholarship ($1,500): Eligible applicant must be a US citizen and have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2. Preference will be given to those who are majoring in Finance.
-Haddad Scholarship ($1500): Applicant must be a US citizen pursuing full-time MBA, have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2 and have financial need. Preference given to students interested in international business
-Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Graduate Scholarship ($1500): Student must have a U.S. citizen and be an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2.
-Jim King Scholarships ($1,000): Student must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher and be a U.S. citizen. The primary selection criteria are academic excellence and involvement in extracurricular activities.
-Robert Bruce Graduate Fellowships ($1,500): For this fellowship, applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0.
-Helen Craig Wardlaw MBA Assistantship & Scholarship ($1,500): Student must be a female pursuing a full-time MBA and have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0. The primary selection criteria are academic excellence and involvement in extracurricular activities. Preference will be given to support women interested in pursuing careers in banking or financial services.

Department Scholarships

There are a number of scholarships awarded by each of the following college’s departments: Department of Accounting, Department of Finance, Department of Management, Department of Marketing and the Department of Risk Management/Information, Real Estate & Legal Studies. These awards are typically restricted to majors within each department.

1). Department of Accounting Scholarships: The Department of Accounting awards a number of fellowships to applicants with strong academic credentials. Currently, fellowships are $1,500 per year, payable in equal installments over three terms. Under department of accounting there are Assistantships, Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA) Scholarship, Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA) Scholarships, James Wilcox African American 5th Year Scholarship and Walter A. Friedly Memorial Scholarship.

2). Department of Finance: The Department of Finance awards a number of scholarships to MSF students. The department also award various scholarships for undergraduate students who have a declared major in finance and indicate they will continue to pursue a degree in finance. These scholarships range $500 per semester and are awarded for the full academic year.

3). Department of Management: For undergraduate students, the department awards Kirk Belle Cocke Hassell Scholarship up to $2000 for students who normally must have a least a 3.25 FSU GPA. The department also awards Jeanie Cannan Vidaurreta Scholarship to both undergraduate and graduate students and its eligibility criteria includes but is not limited to the following: GPA and GMAT scores; focus disadvantaged and minority students and Marguerite N. Williams Presidential Scholarship to support undergraduate and graduate information management systems students with criteria based on academic merit, leadership and/or community service.

4). Department of Marketing: There is a C. Ferrell Marketing Excellence Scholarship at $500) available for both undergraduate or graduate students. Richard Baker Memorial Marketing Scholarship at $1,500 and Sales Advisory Board Scholarships are available to top undergraduate students.

5). Department of Risk Management/Insurance, Real Estate and Legal Studies: The department scholarships in real estate are announced and applications requested each spring for the following academic year. These scholarships are typically awarded at the beginning of the fall semester, and the recipients announced in the fall at the Real Estate Networking & Trends Conference and the College of Business awards banquet.

College of Criminology Scholarships

The applications for these scholarships are currently accepting scholarship applications through March 15, 2016. The college awards following scholarships:
-Frank A. and Lynw W. Baker Scholarship Award: Under this scholarship, preference is given to junior and senior undergraduates from Jackson County, Florida, who are focused on the areas of corrections, law enforcement, and security administration and demonstrate financial need.
-Eugene and Roselind Czajoski Scholarship Fund: To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be enrolled in the FSU College of Criminology and Criminal Justice and must submit a 1500-2000 word essay demonstrating his or her interest in exploring, within criminology, issues involving the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
-Corey D. Dahlem Memorial Endowed Scholarship: Eligible student must be a Junior level undergraduate with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and must demonstrate financial need.
-Jerry A. and Carolyn S. Glass Scholarship Award: Scholarship is open for undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates proven academic ability along with financial need. Preference is given to students from Jackson County, Florida who are lineal descendants of current or deceased members of the Marianna Kiwanis Club or of current or deceased members of the Fishermen’s Sunday School Class of the First Baptists Church of Marianna, Florida.
-Kelly Ivey Ivey Memorial Scholarship: Junior level undergraduate. Applications should be turned in during sophomore year. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates academic ability and financial need and is from Escambia or Santa Rosa counties. Second preference is given to a student from the Florida Panhandle.
-Ernest K. Ponce De Leon Memorial Law Enforcement Academy Scholarship: This scholarship is available for full-time undergraduate students, participating in the Criminology Internship Program at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy, or a similar law enforcement academy.
-The Florida Shreriffs Association Law Enforcement Academy Scholarship: Scholarship is for full-time undergraduate students, participating in the Criminology Internship Program at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy, or a similar law enforcement academy.
-SGT. Daniel “Dale Green Memorial Law Enforcement Academy Prgramme Scholarship: Scholarship is for full-time undergraduate students, participating in the Criminology Internship Program at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy, or a similar law enforcement academy.
-Relgalf Scholarship: Entering freshmen and transfer students are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Undergraduate students who will serve in small police departments upon graduation. Scholarship pays full-tuition and living expenses for four years.
-Frederick Simon Family Memorial Scholarship: Scholarship is available for current full-time undergraduate students majoring in Criminology or qualified majors in the accelerated BS to MS program in Criminology. Student must demonstrated academic success (minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA) and should participate in the College’s internship program or membership in Lambda Alpha Epsilon.
-Robert Williams Endowed Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to junior level undergraduates interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. Students should apply during their junior year.
-Doyle E. Young Endowed Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is available for former military or military dependents and federal law enforcement dependents pursing full-time undergraduate or graduate degrees in Criminology or Criminal Justice. Student requires a minimum 3.0 GPA. to be eligible.

Department of Biological Science Scholarship

This department awards following types of scholarships for students majoring in Biological Science:
-Biological Science Alumni Scholarship: An award of up to $1,000 will awarded to an outstanding upper-division biological science major. The scholarship is intended to support exceptional undergraduates in pursuing professional careers in biological science.
-Biological Science Faculty Award for Undergraduate Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $1,350 awarded annually to the outstanding senior biological science major. Candidates are nominated by faculty.
-John Mark Caffrey Scholarship (Sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences): A scholarship of up to $1,500 awarded annually to an outstanding senior with an academic interest in biology, structural biology, biochemistry, or physiology. Selection criteria include academic performance and evidence of outstanding potential for a career as a research scientist.
-Francenia E. Fisher Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $2,500 awarded annually to an outstanding senior biological science major specializing in botany. This scholarship is intended to encourage talented undergraduates to pursue careers in plant biology.
-Charles M. Mcallister Undergraduate Research Award: Up to two scholarships of up to $500 each awarded annually to outstanding upper-division biological science majors with financial need and the opportunity to replace work time with research (BSC 4900, Directed Individual Study; BSC4970, Honors in the Major). Selection criteria include academic performance, financial need, and potential for undergraduate research.
-Kevin L. Mckeown Memorial Scholarship in Biology Science: A scholarship of up to $2750 awarded annually to an outstanding upper-division biological science major. Preference will be given to a student who is a permanent resident of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee, or Sarasota counties, but the scholarship is not limited to these counties.
-Ben and Karen Thrower Scholarship: A scholarship of $500 awarded each fall term to provide support for one undergraduate and one graduate student within the Department of Biological Science. Each student receives $500. Selection is based on academic merit and may be directed to those pursuing research within the department.
-Robert B. Short Scholarship in Zoology: The Robert B. Short Scholarship in Zoology provides an award of up to $2,000 to a currently enrolled graduate student or senior undergraduate student at Florida State University in the Department of Biological Science with a career interest in zoology.
-Varina Vaughn-Winona Jordon Scholarship: Scholarship of up to $1,000 awarded annually to an outstanding upper-division biological science major who intends to pursue a career in the plant sciences. Selection criteria include academic performance, evidence of financial need, and a demonstrated interest in the plant sciences.

College of Law Scholarships

Florida State University’s College of Law offers a program of scholarship assistance made available through the generous support of alumni and friends. Scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of merit and financial need. The College of Law also offers scholarships specific to environmental programs. These environmental scholarships are available to admitted students with a demonstrated interest in environmental, energy or land use law.

College of Arts and Sciences Study Abroad Scholarship

A $2,000 scholarship is available to Arts and Sciences students participating in the FSU Study Abroad Program. Under this scholarship, students will be given be opportunity to study abroad as participants in the Florida State University Study Abroad Program. Applicant must have completed at least 52 credit hours at the time of travel, including at least 15 credit hours at Florida State University and be officially listed as an undergraduate major in a degree program offered through the College of Arts and Sciences.

International Programs Scholarships

International Programs is pleased to offer over $130,000 worth of following scholarships annually. Availability of all scholarships will be subject to funding.
-International Programs Anniversary Scholarship includes $75,000 for Florida State students who study abroad. Florida State degree-seeking students who have an overall GPA of 3.5 or better may apply for this need and merit-based scholarship.
-International Programs Achievement Scholarship of $20,000 annually to the creme de la creme of the FSU student body. Florida State degree-seeking students who have an overall GPA of 3.8 or better may apply for this merit-based scholarship.
-International Programs Spring Break Program Scholarship for high achieving students participating on FSU International Programs spring break programs.
-Minority Scholarship can be applied toward a fall and spring semesters in Florence, London, Panama City or Valencia. Nationally, less than twenty percent of those who study abroad are minority students. In an effort to help more minorities study abroad, the Florida State University has offered a Minority Scholarship for over twenty years.
-Spring Break Programs Scholarships are short trips that complement a course being offered in Tallahassee during the spring semester.
-William Cullen Klein Memorial Scholarship, a new scholarship awarded in Spanish and Chinese. FSU International Programs will determine the amount of each scholarship; this scholarship is merit-based, and is available for FSU student participating on the summer Tianjin program.
-Multi-Term Discount for students who have completed 18 or more credit hours on programs administered by the International Programs Office, with a 3.0 average or greater in course work at the international location(s), are eligible for discounts for subsequent IP programs. Scholarships are $500 for summer sessions or $1,000 for fall or spring semesters.

Presidential Scholars Programme

The Presidential Scholars award is the premier undergraduate merit scholarship at Florida State University. The program provides four years of support and is open to high school seniors who are admitted into the Florida State University Honors Program. Students admitted to the Presidential Scholars program can take advantage of honors curricula  and high-impact educational experiences such as: Study Abroad  and Global Scholars, research and creative endeavors , service-learning projects, public service internships and entrepreneurship development.
