Eligibility

  • Admissible Criteria: Applicants must fulfill one of the following conditions:
  • Plan to enroll in a Belgian graduate program (Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent) with the BAEF fellowship.
  • Be currently enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or equivalent program in the United States and plan applicable research in Belgium.
  • Hold a Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent degree and intend to conduct research in Belgium. Postdoctoral applicants should have no more than 2 years of research experience since obtaining their Ph.D. by July 1, 2025.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should download the application form from the BAEF website (US application). Along with the completed application form, candidates must submit undergraduate and graduate transcripts, a brief autobiographical statement, a study or research plan, and three letters of recommendation. Completed applications must be submitted as electronic documents in PDF format attached to an email sent no later than October 31, 2024, to [email protected]. Letters of recommendation should be sent separately to the same email address.

Benefits

In addition to the stipend, the Foundation will cover the cost of health insurance in Belgium through its group policy. No further financial aid is available.
