Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and ANSO is inviting CAS-ANSO Alumni Fellowship for the academic session 2024/2025. All interested candidates are encourage to apply for this funding opportunity.

To be eligible graduates of the CAS-TWAS Scholarship / CAS “the Belt and Road” Master’s Fellowship Program / CAS-ANSO Scholarship (formerly known as the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents) who work in S&T fields in the Belt and Road countries and regions.

The Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) is a prominent international organization committed to fostering scientific cooperation, innovation, and talent development. Established with the support of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), ANSO aims to address global challenges through collaborative scientific endeavors. Application Deadline: The first-round review for 2024 will be carried out between 11th May, 2024 and middle June. Applications received after 10th May, 2024 will not be processed until the next round of review (time to be determined later).

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Graduates of the CAS-TWAS Scholarship, CAS “the Belt and Road” Master’s Fellowship Program, or CAS-ANSO Scholarship (formerly known as the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents) who work in S&T fields in the Belt and Road countries and regions.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Open to any subject offered by CAS-affiliated institutions
  • Admissible Criteria: Applicants must meet all the following criteria:
    1. Holders of the aforementioned scholarships.
    2. Engaged in S&T fields within the Belt and Road countries and regions.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should adhere to the following application procedures:

Application Procedures

  1. Time Period: The first-round review for 2024 will occur between May 11, 2024, and mid-June. Applications received after May 10, 2024, will be processed in subsequent rounds.
  2. Required Materials: Applicants must submit the following items:
    • Application form (downloadable from Attachment 1)
    • Recent passport-sized digital photo (in color)
    • Scanned copy of the first page of a valid passport with personal information
    • Recommendation letters from CAS host researchers
    • Detailed plan, including collaboration background, objectives, description, timetable, and predictable results
    • Diploma and proof of scholarship for CAS-ANSO Alumni Fellowship applicants
  3. Step-by-step Application Guideline:
    1. Identify an appropriate CAS host researcher affiliated with a CAS-affiliated institution.
    2. Prepare scanned copies of all required materials.
    3. Submit the application form and materials to the designated CAS host researcher, who will then forward it to the CAS-ANSO Fellowship office.
    4. Applications must be submitted through the main host institution affiliated with CAS.
    5. Allow sufficient time for applications to pass through the host institution’s submission route before the deadline.
    6. Final decisions will be made after expert review, and applicants will be notified of the results by their host researchers.
