The University of Copenhagen & University College VIA are seeking motivated students to join the CESE PhD Fellowship in Science Education Research in Denmark for the academic year 2025-2026.

To be eligible for the fellowship in Science Education Research, applicants must hold a Master’s degree equivalent to a Danish MSc in education, science education, or a related field. The University of Copenhagen, in collaboration with University College VIA, invites applications for a PhD fellowship in Science Education Research. This position is part of the Danish Science Education Academy (NAFA) and its Center of Excellence in Science Education (CESE). The fellowship aims to explore the professional identities of science teachers in Danish primary and lower secondary schools.

Eligibility

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship is available for a PhD in Science Education Research
  • Admissible Criteria:
    • A Master’s degree equivalent to a Danish MSc (180 ECTS BSc + 120 ECTS MSc) in education, science education, or related fields.
    • Experience in science education at primary or lower secondary school level and/or teacher education.
    • Competency in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.
    • Proficiency in Danish or another Scandinavian language is preferred.
    • Prior experience in research dissemination and publication is an advantage.
