CITA is offering the Postdoctoral Fellowships for high-calibre applicants in Canada. CITA’s primary missions are to foster interaction within the Canadian theoretical astrophysics community and to serve as an international centre of excellence for theoretical studies in astrophysics.

The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) supports a number of programs chosen for their high intellectual promise and interdisciplinary character. Several CITA faculty are CIFAR Fellows, Scholars or Associates.

Funds will be available for travel and other research expenses. Fellows are expected to carry out original research in theoretical astrophysics under the general supervision of the faculty at CITA whose interests include: cosmology, interstellar matter, high energy astrophysics, relativistic astrophysics, star and planet formation, galaxy formation, gravitation and numerical relativity.

Eligibility

Fellows are expected to carry out original research in theoretical astrophysics under the general supervision of the permanent faculty whose interests include: cosmology, interstellar matter, galaxy, star and planet formation, solar physics, high energy astrophysics, numerical relativity and gravitational waves.
