Description: The University of Leicester School of Education is delighted to be able to offer a new Doctorate in Education (EdD) studentship, supported by the Sir Robert and Lady Hilary Burgess Research and Teaching Fund. Inspired by the spirit and commitment shown by supporters of the University, Professor Sir Robert Burgess (Vice-Chancellor of the University, 1999-2014) and Lady Hilary Burgess (Director of Studies and Professor of Education in the School of Education) established the Fund with a personal donation. The Fund, which will make a lasting impact, will support teaching excellence by providing scholarships to fund a student to study for a Doctorate in Education (EdD). The Fund will enable our leading teachers to improve their practice, develop curricula and improve the quality of education for future generations.
