Durham Law School is inviting applicants for the PGR Funding Opportunities for the academic session 2019-20. The successful applicants will register for a full-time MJur (one year) or PhD (three years) in the Law School.
The successful candidate will undertake research on an approved topic under the supervision of an appropriately qualified member of the Law School’s academic staff (for the research interests of academic staff, see http://www.dur.ac.uk/law/staff/).

Eligibility
- Successful applicants will be required to teach up to 40 contact hours per academic year as assigned by the Head of School. Candidates must be able to offer teaching within any of the core legal areas (Legal Skills, Contracts, Torts, UK Constitutional Law, Individual and the State, Criminal Law, Trusts, and Land Law).
- An ability to teach other subjects, especially in the corporate or commercial areas, would be an advantage. The successful applicants will be required to mark assessed work (which will be moderated by other members of staff) and to provide students with appropriate feedback on their performance.
- They will be expected to monitor students’ performance and attendance, and to report shortcomings in attendance or performance to the appropriate colleagues.

- The letter of application should include a brief CV, a copy of the research proposal for the M.Jur/Ph.D., a transcript of marks obtained to date, details of any teaching experience/training and the names of at least two academic referees.
