The New South Wales Government proudly offers the Early Childhood Inclusive Education Scholarships Program. This scholarship is open to international and postgraduate students interested in studying at an Australian university. The scholarship is worth up to $20,000 and will be awarded to several students yearly. Eligible courses include the Master of Special and Inclusive Education. About

The scholarships provide financial assistance to scholars who are qualified early childhood teachers to increase the capacity of the early childhood education sector to include children with disability and additional needs in community preschools, mobile preschools, and long daycare services.

This will help to improve the quality of early childhood education for all children and ensure that all children have access to the same opportunities to thrive and learn.

Eligibility

Interested applicants need qualified early childhood teachers in the NSW early childhood education sector to apply. To be eligible to apply for the 2022-23 Early Childhood Inclusive Education scholarship program, applicants must:

Intend to enroll or already be enrolled in the Master of Special and Inclusive Education (specializing in Early Childhood) or a Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Disability Support? At the University of Newcastle.

Intend to complete the above qualifications in no more than four years.

Have completed an early childhood teaching bachelor’s degree recognized by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA

is not in receipt of any other scholarship funding related to the course for which the scholarship is sought.

Be employed or intend to work in an NSW community preschool, mobile preschool, or long day care service.

Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident residing in NSW. An exemption from the NSW residency requirements may be provided where the applicant can demonstrate they are working or intend to work in NSW early childhood education services. An example of this would be an applicant living in a border region where the applicant is already employed in an NSW early childhood education service.

How to Apply

To apply for the Early Childhood Inclusive Education Scholarships Program, complete the application form and submit it to the Department by Monday, 10 October 2022. The form can be downloaded from the Department’s website.

Your application must provide information on your educational history and experience working with children with disabilities. You must also provide contact information for two referees who can attest to your qualifications and experience.

The Department will assess all applications and may contact applicants for further information. The assessment process may include a competitive process. Successful applicants will be notified in early 2020.
