If you have an offer to study in the UK then you can apply for the Edinburgh UK/EU Postgraduate Adult Returner Bursaries. The program is funded by the University of Edinburgh.

Candidates who are from the UK and the European Union are invited to apply. Up to six bursaries are offered for intended to assist with child-care costs for students who are returning to Higher Education study at university after a break of at least 3 years.

Eligibility

Applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • The funds will be awarded to mature UK/EU citizens who are returning to higher education after at least three years away from the university.
  • Students should already have been offered a full-time postgraduate place at the University of Edinburgh (in any study discipline) and should have firmly accepted that offer.

How to Apply

  • How to apply: For applying, a student is required to gain admission in postgraduate coursework at the university. After taking admission candidates can download an application form in Rich Text Format (RTF) or PDF (which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader), or request one to be sent to them from The Scholarships and Finance Office, University of Edinburgh, Old College, South Bridge, Edinburgh EH8 9YL.
  • Supporting Documents: Must submit the letter of motivation, statement of purpose and a CV.
  • Admission Requirements: For admission in postgraduate degree applicants must have to meet the admission requirements of the university.
  • Language Requirement: All applicants will be asked to demonstrate a level of English language competency, regardless of their nationality or country of residence.

Benefits

The successful scholar will receive a maximum value of £3,000 per annum. The sponsorship will be awarded for one year in the first instance.
