Edmentum, an online learning solution, has announced the addition of 70 new Career Technical Education (CTE) for 2015-16 academic years.

The new courses will accumulate different fields like AV Technology, communications, business management and administration. The courseware will be entirely designed for mobile device and to engage with real-world content.

Also the course will be available through Plato Courseware and EdOptions Academy.

On announcing the new courseware, Eric Swanson, group product manager at Edmentum said, “The success of introducing students to career options through CTE is evident, and our new courses offer even more options for students to explore. By almost doubling our CTE offerings, students will have even more options to connect with different careers through the classroom.”

According to the report from National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEC), nearly 12.5 million students participate for CTE program annually.

With the introduction of new course, students can prepare for post-secondary education and career that will cover 16 career clusters.

The CTE course option was recently seen in Michigan, where Gov. Rick Snyder had approved the amendment to allow student take up welding and other technical field in place of traditional course like Algebra II for graduation.

Additionally, with the addition of CTE, Edmentum is also in the process of refreshing the module of Plato Courseware and EdOptions Academy Math and English language arts courses that will be optimized for mobile centric and built to Common Core State Standards for 2015-16 school year.
