The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs offers Eiffel scholarships for international students annually. These scholarships are awarded for pursuing a master’s degree at French host higher education institutions and a PhD through a thesis joint supervision or co-tutorship with a foreign higher education institution partner.
It helps to shape the future foreign decision-makers of the private and public sectors in priority areas of study and encourages applications from emerging countries at the master’s level and from emerging and industrialized countries at the PhD level.

( votes)The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme was established by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development to enable French higher education establishments to attract top foreign students to enrol in their master’s and PhD courses.
When pre-selecting non-French-speaking candidates, establishments must ensure that their language skills meet the requirements of the relevant course of study.

Eligibility
- Eligible Countries: International students (except French students) are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
- Entrance Requirements: Nationality: this program is reserved for non-French nationals. Candidates with two nationalities, one French, are not eligible.
- Levels of study: scholarships are granted to candidates wishing to enrol in a master’s program, including at an engineering school, and for PhD students. The Eiffel Program does not apply to French-run master’s programs abroad.
- Scholarship incompatibilities: foreign students who, at the time of application, have already been awarded a French government scholarship from another Program are not eligible, even if the scholarship only covers health insurance.

The Eiffel scholarship consists of a monthly allowance of €1,181. In addition, the following benefits are covered:
- Tuition fees are not covered by the Eiffel Program. Educational institutions are expected to provide students the best financial support..
- Students admitted to public educational institutions are, as French government scholarship holders, exempted from enrolment fees.
- Master’s level : Eiff The Eiffel scholarship consist of a monthly allowance of €1,181 (a maintenance allowance of €1,031 and a monthly stipend of €150). In addition, the program covers various benefits including a round-trip international ticket, Health insurance and cultural activities.
- PhD level : The Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,800 (since 1st of January 2024). In addition, the program covers various benefits including a round-trip international ticket, Health insurance and cultural activities.
