Now I am graduates of Arba Minch University in the department of Meteorology (BSC).
I am interested to proceed in this field of study and related fields. That is why I am looking the only alternate scholars. My wishes and interests come to true, when you once give me a chance. I hope, I will have a time to hear your positive response. Learning is the only choice to come up with the solution of climate change and its effect (especially for developing countries that don’t have an access to learn).

  4. Amare Shiberu says:

    Dear sir/madam,

I’m Amare Shiberu from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I received my BSc degree of natural science from Addis Ababa University of Ethiopia-East Africa. I also graduated from the technology faculty of the same University with an MSc degree in Environmental Engineering in July, 2008. Currently, I’m working as an expert in the Ethiopian Cleaner Production Center of the national Ministry of Science and Technology.

The main tasks in the center being undertaken by me are promotion of sustainable industrial production focusing on: Providing industrial sectors with an effective Cleaner Production (CP) technical assistance to reduce waste at the source and enhance their productivity and competitiveness to the global market, Selection and Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies, Developing and Implementing the Environmental Management System and continually monitoring for improvement, and Provision of other Environmental Services such as EIA and Undertaking CP assessment and environmental audits.

I feel a great pleasure to express my eager and burning desire and interest in getting a PhD assistantship on either Environmental Engineering, Environmental science, Environmental management or Environment and Sustainable development. Being backed by further training at a PhD level, I want to contribute more to the existing national and global environmental challenges especially those associated with industries. This is a clear indication of how passionate and inspired I’m in environmentally related studies.

Therefore, I sincerely and earnestly would like to request your kind consideration to find ways of getting full scholarship assistance for me so that I will be able to pursue my PhD study on any one of the Environmental areas as I have the necessary background in the field. Thanking in advance for your cooperation, I look forward to hearing your kind response soon.

    Best regards,
    Yours Sincerely.

  19. ISAAC ALBERT AIDOO says:

    Hi,
I am Isaac Albert Aidoo of Ho Polytechnic, Ghana. I have gained admission to the Newcastle University to study a four-year full time programme leading to award of Integrated PhD Environmental Science (FT) (Civil Engineering (Environmental)) with a Registration Number of 400083183/089144765.

The course began on September 22 2008 but due to funding challenges I could not start with them. I have applied to the institution to defer the beginning of my course to September 2009 to enable me source funding for it, to which they have responded positively and have given me a new starting date of September 14 2009.

Tuition fees have been quoted as £15,250 for the 2008/2009 academic year and likely to increase in 2009/2010 academic year.

Living expenses for a period of twelve months have been quoted as £7,500 p. a.

Air fare from and to Ghana (return trip) according to a friend could be about £6,500.

All together will be around £29,250 p. a. So for the whole course of four years will total about £120,000 including expected yearly increment of fees and other charges.

I would be grateful if I could be linked to some funding agencies whose interests are in water and sanitation challenges facing rural and peri-urban communities in developing countries with women and children as the most vulnerable, to sponsor me for the course.

The proposed project for the course will investigate novel approaches to sustainable water treatment for households in developing countries. Initially this will focus on development and evaluation of ceramic filters operating at elevated pressures, and comparisons will be made with existing low-pressure ceramic filters operating under gravity flow.

The second area of investigation will involve thermal disinfection by solar processes and the development of a low-cost pasteurization process using plastic Fresnel lens coupled with a novel high-efficiency disinfection chamber.

Comparison of these two approaches will be made in relation to cost, sustainability and efficacy. The project will incorporate a field trial of the preferred process in Ghana or Kenya.

This is a research if, when completed and implemented, will go a long way to help solve the numerous water and sanitation challenges facing the rural and peri-urban communities developing countries.

I would therefore be grateful to get a favourable response in the earliest possible time, GOD WILLING.

    Thank you,
    Best Regards.
