FSWC-Zaglembier Society Scholarship for Postgraduate Students in Canada, 2015-2016

The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC), in conjunction with the Zaglembier Society, is offering two postgraduate scholarships of $1,800 each for the 2015-2016 year. These scholarships are open to full-time or part-time students pursuing Holocaust Studies at the postgraduate level (Masters and PhD). Applications are open for all years of study. Scholarship eligibility will be based on academic achievements. Applications are due by May 31, 2015.

Scholarship Description: The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC), in conjunction with the Zaglembier Society, is offering awards of $1,800 to recognize students who have a passion for keeping the memories of the Holocaust alive and a strong commitment to Simon Wiesenthal’s legacy of promoting education and tolerance. Successful applicants must demonstrate their commitment to Holocaust Studies and Holocaust education in essay format and showcase their involvement with Holocaust Studies and Holocaust education throughout their post-Graduate studies.

Selection Criteria: Scholarship eligibility will be based on academic achievements.

Notification: The review committee will meet and interview qualifying candidates to determine who will be awarded the scholarships. Winners will be showcased and scholarships will be awarded at a private Awards Ceremony (Date TBD).

-Undergrad Transcript from each institution attended
-Proof of enrollment in post-Graduate program
-Essay that answers the following (Maximum 1500 words):
Why have you chosen to pursue a post-Graduate degree with a focus on Holocaust Studies?
What is your particular area of specialization within the field of Holocaust Studies?
What are your professional and/or academic goals at the completion of your studies?
-Two (2) letters of recommendation

Scholarship Application Deadline: Applications for the 2015-2016 year are due by May 31, 2015.
