The Fulbright Program – U.S. Department of State is offering the Egyptian Scholar Grant for professionals and academics in arts and cultural management, museum, and heritage studies. This grant provides 3 to 9 months of research opportunities at U.S. institutions with benefits including travel allowance, stipend, baggage allowance, and health coverage.

The scholarship is open to Egyptian professionals or academics in arts and cultural management, museum, or heritage studies, holding a relevant degree (B.A., B.Sc., or MFA), with strong professional or academic experience, excellent English skills, and residing in Egypt during the application and selection process. Applicants must not be U.S. citizens or employees of certain U.S. government or Fulbright-affiliated organizations.

Eligibility

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Must be an Egyptian citizen residing in Egypt during the application and selection process.

  • Professionals at an artistic institution (museum, library, arts/cultural center) or academic faculty members at Egyptian universities in arts and cultural management or museum and heritage studies.

  • Strong professional or academic background suitable for conducting proposed research.

  • Possess a B.A., B.Sc., and/or MFA degree.

  • Excellent command of English.

  • Must complete all application, assessment, and pre-departure procedures successfully.

  • Applicants, their spouses, and children must not be employees of the U.S. Department of State, USAID, or associated organizations during the application period and one year following employment.

  • U.S. citizens and green card holders are not eligible.

  • Preference given to applicants without prior significant experience in the U.S. or overseas.
