Eligibility:
-Eligible applicants will be full or part time students entering or currently registered in any Master of Social Work program who are Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents (landed immigrant) or Protected Persons, and are long term residents of Ontario.
-Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have met or are meeting all admission and program requirements.
– The recipient will demonstrate an active interest in prevention or early intervention treatment strategies, as described in a statement of interest submitted on the application form.
-Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate several years of practical social work experience (paid or volunteer) following the completion of their undergraduate degree.

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: Endowed award; established by friends of Gayden Hemmans to recognize the contributions she made to social work practice and to encourage others to emulate her example. Gayden was very hard working, took a lot of initiative and was committed to lifelong learning. The recipient of this award will emulate these qualities.
