Government of Bermuda Scholarships for Post-Secondary Education, 2017

The Government of Bermuda is offering a number of new and existing scholarships and awards. Scholarships are available for graduating senior school students pursuing the local or overseas post-secondary study.

Bermuda is a parliamentary representative democratic dependency. The premier is the head of government, and there is a multi-party system. Bermuda is the oldest self-governing British Overseas Territory and has a great degree of internal autonomy.

Scholarship Award:

Minister’s Achievement Scholarship: Scholarship value is $25,000

Minister’s Merit Scholarship: Scholarship value is $25,000

Minister’s Technical and Vocational Award: Award value is $5,000 for local and $25,000 for overseas study.

Minister’s Exceptional Student Award: Award value is $5,000 for local and $25,000 for overseas study.

Existing Scholarships and Awards

Bermuda Government Scholarship: Scholarship value is up to $35,000 towards the cost of tuition and basic accommodation.

Teacher Training Award: Award value is $20,000

Mature Student Award: Award value is $20,000.

Further Education Award: Award value is $10,000

Scholarship can be taken in Bermuda or Abroad

Eligibility:

Minister’s Achievement Scholarship: For graduating public school students pursuing the overseas post-secondary study.

Minister’s Merit Scholarship

  • For graduating senior school students pursuing the overseas post-secondary study.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Minister’s Technical and Vocational Award

  • For graduating public school students or recent public school alumni
  • attending Bermuda College pursuing local or overseas post-secondary study
  • Must have a strong interest in technical and vocational studies.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Minister’s Exceptional Student Award

  • For graduating students or school leavers with disabilities pursuing the local or overseas post-secondary study.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Existing Scholarships and Awards

Bermuda Government Scholarship: For graduating senior school students or current college or university students pursuing post-secondary education.

Teacher Training Award

  • For current college or university students with sophomore standing for the study of selected subjects and/ or areas of teaching need in the Bermuda Public School System.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Mature Student Award

  • For mature (aged 35 or older) college or university students with sophomore standing pursuing continued post-secondary study.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Further Education Award

  • For current college or university students with sophomore standing pursuing continued post-secondary study.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Nationality: Students from Bermuda can apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have their previous degree.

English Language Requirement: Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.
