Eligibility:
Applicants must be in the final year of their PhD studies or have no more than four years of postdoctoral research experience from the date of PhD viva to the full application submission deadline.

Applicants do not have to be an Indian national or of Indian origin. They need not have undertaken their PhD in India.

Applicants must have shown significant promise in their scientific career to date, which includes, but is not limited to; strong academic record, visits to conferences and workshops, and importantly, the vision to develop as an independent researcher. The proposed research should fall within the India Alliance’s remit which is to support biomedical research that is relevant to human and animal welfare.

Scholarship Description: This scheme provides a unique opportunity for the most promising postdoctoral researchers to carry out research in India. Applicants have to identify a Fellowship Supervisor in a Host institution in India, in whose laboratory they can undertake their project. The 4-year fellowships provide generous and flexible funding which includes: (1) competitive personal support; (2) Generous & flexible funds for research expenses. (3) Funding to work in India or overseas for scientifically justified visits up to 24 months.
