Founded in 1985, University Brunei Darussalam is the first research university to deliver undergraduate and graduate studies programs. There are nine educational faculties and seven research institutes. The University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) is rated 100th in Asia and 323rd globally.

• Eligible Countries: All nationalities
• Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded to a Graduate Research degree in Energy, Material Science, Biodiversity, Data Analytics, Asian and Islamic Studies, Bioinspiration, Climate Change, Herbal Medicine, Sensor Technology, and Catalysis subject offered by the university.
• Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
• Students are at most 30 years of age at the time of the application (exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis).
• Students hold a Master’s Degree* and at least Upper Second Degree in a relevant field from an internationally recognized top university.
• Students hold a First Class Degree* in a relevant field from an internationally recognized top university.
• Students can fulfill UBD’s admission requirements (including English proficiency).
• Submit a high-quality and impactful research proposal.

• Supporting Documents: To apply, candidates must be ready to submit their previous transcripts, such as a CV and a copy of their passport from the university.
• Admission Requirements: To take admission, students must have to check the entry requirements of their chosen program.
• Language Requirement: Applicants must provide evidence of English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or higher) on or before the application process.

Benefits

The University of Brunei Darussalam will provide all the following:

• Tuition fees will be waived, including registration and acceptance fees at the University Brunei Darussalam.
• Subsistence allowance of BND 2,200.00 (Brunei Dollars) per month for 36 months.
• Free on-campus accommodation (not including administrative fees) [UBD Corp]
• For candidates not residing in Brunei Darussalam, one incoming and outgoing economy class air ticket will be provided (upon accepting the scholarship) and back to the home country (upon completion of study).
• Funding for overseas research or conference presentations (up to BND 3,000.00 (Brunei Dollars)).
• Visa fees will be included in the scholarship for candidates.
