International Helmholtz Research School of Biophysics and Soft Matter PhD Position in Germany, 2017

The International Helmholtz Research School of Biophysics and Soft Matter is offering positions for graduate students aiming to complete their PhD within three years. Position is available for pursuing PhD programme.

The Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers is the largest scientific organization in Germany. Scientists at Helmholtz, therefore, focus research on complex systems which affect human life and the environment.

Course Level: Position is available for pursuing PhD programme.

Study Subject: Position is awarded in the Physics of synthetic microswimmers: hydrodynamic simulations.

Scholarship Award: IHRS BioSoft offers a PhD position for three years, including salary and all social benefits. Fellow PhD students receive a salary or a fellowship commensurate with those offered for other PhD positions in Germany.

Number of Scholarships: One position is available.

Scholarship can be taken in Germany

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the position:

  • They are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a Master title in physics, or closely related subjects.
  • Given that the main focus of the project is to develop and to perform computer simulations within the framework of statistical physics, relevant experience and high motivation for this type of work is required.
  • Knowledge of soft matter physics and related areas would be an advantage. Good knowledge of English is mandatory.

Nationality: German applicants can apply for this fellowship.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicant must have previous degree.

English Language Requirements: Students meet the necessary language proficiency requirements of the host institution.
