2016 49ership International Internship Program In USA

University of North Carolina at Charlotte offers 49ership Internship Program for graduate and undergraduate students. It is open for international students. It will teach the applicants valuable job-search skills such as resume writing and interviewing techniques. 49erships may be paid or unpaid. Students are enrolled in a zero-credit transcript notation course officially documenting applicant’s opportunity through the University. There is a $60 registration fee for transcript notation that is applied to applicant’s student account each semester they are enrolled in the program.

Field of Internship: It is a career related academic internship where students work one (or more) semester(s) to gain professional experience. The 49ership Program will also teach candidates valuable job-search skills such as resume writing and interviewing techniques.

Eligibility: Undergraduate Students
-Must be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours)
-Must have completed 30 earned credit hours at UNC Charlotte before you begin your 49ership (12 as a transfer student)
-Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0
-Must be in good standing with the University with no financial holds over $99
-There is a one-semester exception to the full-time student requirement during your final semester of coursework
-Graduate Students
-Must be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum of 9 credit hours)
-Must have completed 9 earned credit hours at UNC Charlotte
-Must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
-Must be in good standing with the University with no financial holds over $99
-Program is not open to students only enrolled in the Graduate Residency course
-There is a one-semester exception to the full-time student requirement during your final semester of coursework
-International Students
-In addition to the requirements above, international students must have been in lawful student status for one academic year (2 semesters) in order to be eligible for the 49ership Program. International students in F1 or J1 status may not work off-campus until Curricular Practical Training is authorized by the ISSO and a new I-20 has been issued for the work experience.

The 49ership Program will also teach you valuable job-search skills such as resume writing and interviewing techniques.

Internship Duration: Students work a minimum of 80 hours and 5 weeks per semester to complete the program.
