- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the University of Stavanger within the field of theoretical material physics.
- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
- Completed a five-year master’s degree (3+2) in theoretical physics, materials physics, theoretical chemistry, nanotechnology, or possess equivalent qualifications.
- Both the grade for the master’s thesis and the weighted average grade of the master’s degree must be equivalent to or better than a B grade.
- A good understanding of chemistry.
- Solid skills and knowledge of density functional modeling with common ab initio codes such as Quantum Espresso or VASP.
- Knowledge of semi-empirical codes such as DFTB+.
- Experience with using interactive codes such as LAMMPS or Gromacs.
- Good command of both oral and written English (TOEFL, IELTS, CAE/CPE, or PTE Academic scores as specified).
- Motivation and potential for research within the field.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, be innovative and creative and handle a heavy workload.
