International PhD Fellowships in Nanomechanical Quantum Photonic Devices, Denmark

The University of Copenhagen is very pleased to announce its International PhD Fellowships in Nanomechanical Quantum Photonic Devices for single-photon quantum communication for the academic year 2023-2024.

The fellowship is ideal for candidates within the fields of Applied Physics, Optical or Electrical Engineering, or similar undertaking PhD study in nanomechanical quantum photonic at the University of Copenhagen’s Niels Bohr Institute. Students must come from a relevant background and have basic knowledge of quantum physics and numerical methods for physics to be considered. Appointed candidates will be provided a salary in accordance.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Danish and overseas students can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students must apply for the PhD study in nanomechanical quantum photonics at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have basic knowledge of quantum physics and numerical methods for physics.
  • The applicants must have an interest in doing nanofabrication (previous experience working in cleanrooms is a plus) and experimental work.
  • The applicants must come from a background in optics, solid-state physics or optoelectronics, including experimental skills.

Benefits

The University of Copenhagen is expected to award the appointed candidates a PhD fellow position on full-time basis for up to 3 years with a salary accordingly.
