- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
- The program is to first-time-in-college freshmen (dual credit and AP credit are still eligible) with minimum high school GPA* of 3.8 and must rank in the top 25% of their class** OR submit SAT (1200-1320) or ACT (25-28) test scores.
- International students must submit their SAT (1200-1320) or ACT (25-28) scores for consideration.

- How to Apply: To be considered for this award, all students are invited to fill out the supplemental LU Scholarship application at edu/myscholarships.
- Supporting Documents: You must submit the following official transcript(s) indicating:
- The conferred bachelor’s or master’s degree as required for the intended program from a regionally accredited US institution or its equivalent.
- The most recent attendance if it differs from the institution of the conferred degree. This requirement applies regardless of the length of time in attendance and regardless of whether credit was earned or is desired.
- Admission Requirements: For taking admission, applicants check the entry requirements of the university.
- Language Requirement: International applicants, both undergraduate and graduate, must provide proof of English language proficiency through scores on the TOEFL or IELTS.
Benefits
The Academic Excellence award program will give students $32,000 over four years: $5,500 per year will be applied toward tuition and $2,500 will be applied toward on-campus residence hall at Lamar University.
