The study program is open to applicants must be international students currently residing in Australia, intending to start the Master of Research (MRes) program at Macquarie University in July 2025. Applicants must meet the university’s English language and admission requirements, secure supervision from an eligible researcher, and hold a valid student visa or an Australian visa permitting full-time study.

Eligibility
- Eligible Countries: Applicants from all countries except Australia and New Zealand.
- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is open for any subject offered by Macquarie University through the Master of Research program.
- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an international student onshore in Australia at the time of application.
- Intend to reside in Sydney, Australia during the candidature period.
- Plan to enroll as a full-time student in the Master of Research program commencing in July 2025 (Session 2 2025).
- Meet Macquarie University’s English language requirements for graduate research degrees.
- Fulfill the admission criteria for the Master of Research program.
- Secure confirmation of supervision from an eligible Macquarie University researcher (compulsory for FMHHS and desirable for other faculties).
- Hold a valid Student Visa or an alternative Australian visa permitting full-time study until the end of 2026.
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- Are Australian/New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents.
- Are already enrolled in a Macquarie graduate research program.
- Hold another equivalent scholarship or salary for the proposed program.
- Have completed a research degree at the same or higher level.
- Intend to defer commencement to Session 1 2026.
- Provide false or misleading information.
- Submit incomplete applications.

Outcomes will be issued in early June 2025. Applicants who do not receive a notification by 1 July 2025 should consider their application unsuccessful.
