Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship Training Program in Canada, 2016

Division of Neonatology is offering Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship Training Program to undertake two year training program. The first year of training includes NICU rotations, neonatal transport, neonatal follow-up and 2-3 months of research/elective time. The second year of training includes NICU rotations, an antenatal rotation, paediatric critical care, one month of follow-up and 4-5 months of research/elective time. Upon Completion of program, all trainees who complete the 2 year program will receive a certificate of completion. The application deadline is March 31, 2015 for 2016 academic year.

Study Subject (s): Fellowship is awarded in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Course Level: Fellowship is available to undertake two year training program. The program is integrated within three University of Toronto teaching hospitals – Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH), Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SB) and The Hospital for Sick Children (HSC).

Scholarship Open for International Students: Canadian and international trainees can apply for this Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship.

Scholarship Description: This program has received full approval from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and satisfies the requirements for two years of neonatal-perinatal training as set by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The first year of training includes NICU rotations, neonatal transport, neonatal follow-up and 2-3 months of research/elective time.  The second year of training includes NICU rotations, an antenatal rotation, paediatric critical care, one month of follow-up and 4-5 months of research/elective time. Progression from first year to second is dependent on satisfactory performance and success at our Structured Oral Examination and OSCE.

Duration of award(s): Fellowship will be awarded for two year training program. Progression from first year to second is dependent on satisfactory performance and success at our Structured Oral Examination and OSCE.

What does it cover? Upon Completion of program:
-All trainees who complete the 2 year program will receive a certificate of completion;
-Only trainees who have attained Royal College certification in paediatrics are eligible to write the Royal College Certification Exam upon completion of training.
